We had an email today. The person asked about transmission, and about the antibody test, about treatment, and about pregnancy.

I wonder if he expected us to copy and paste the entire website into a email for him!

Meet-up in Manchester

We are planning a social in a reserved section of the Crown & Kettle pub in Ancoats, Manchester, on Saturday 1st August from 7 pm onwards. We need to know if the area that we have reserved will be big enough! This is being advertised on three herpes pages so we hope for a crowd.

A chat event in LIverpool:

Meet Marian Nicholson, and at least two others with 'it', in the View Bar/Restaurant of the Holiday Inn, Lime St. Have drink, eat if you wish...
Marian runs the Herpes Viruses Association and because she knows all the medical experts, she can answer all your questions. "I learnt more in this chat than from any doctor" said a lady in January. Marian has it too, so fully understand the emotions!

Look for the YELLOW "SPHERE" SIGN on the table to identify us.
She says " Last time I met 6 people, let's have a bigger group this time! Or come again... (You know who you are!) "

Marian has been having these meet-ups in London and around the country and knows that we can talk about 'it' in public without any problem.

The staff of the HVA, Marian Nicholson and Cameron Poole were invited to the British Association for Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) President's Dinner: two of just 100 guests. We are honoured! And it was a really grand networking event too.

Patients Association survey:

They ask us to share their Patient Experience Survey throughout your networks. They want to hear about patients’ experiences with NHS services over the last six months: what’s working well, what isn’t, and what needs to change.

These responses will be used in a report to support their campaigning and advocacy work, helping us make the strongest possible case to government, the NHS, and policymakers for the improvements patients need and deserve.
