We’ve been given a little more time, and we still need your help.

The deadline to secure the pledges we need for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge has been extended until this weekend, giving us one last opportunity to reach our target.

If we can secure £7,500 in pledges, it will unlock matched funding and give us the opportunity to raise £30,000 this Christmas to support children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, along with their families.

A pledge isn’t paid until after the campaign finishes in December, and it can come from an individual, family, business or a group of people joining together.

If you may be able to pledge, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible for more information.

And if you can’t pledge, sharing this post could make all the difference. Someone in your network may be able to help us reach our target.

We have a few more days. Please help us make them count.

A huge thank you to the team at Wates Land & Development, who are taking on the Surrey Three Peaks Challenge this Friday, 4 September, to raise funds for Kangaroos!

The team will be walking 17 miles across the Surrey countryside, starting at Box Hill and taking on three peaks, including Leith Hill, the highest point in Surrey.

They’ve already raised an incredible £1,355, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported them so far.

Please join us in wishing the team lots of luck for Friday! If you’d like to support their challenge and help raise even more for Kangaroos, you can donate here:

On 29 August, Darren will be taking on an incredible challenge to support Kangaroos, playing 72 holes of golf in a single day, all while walking the entire course.

Every pound raised will help us continue providing activities, opportunities and lifelong support for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and additional needs, along with their families.

Ardingly Reservoir Water Sports!

A firm favourite with our members and staff, and it’s easy to see why!

We had a brilliant day at Ardingly Reservoir, getting out on the water for kayaking and paddleboarding, sharing some food together and, of course, making time for ice creams too.

There were plenty of happy faces, lots of laughter and some great achievements out on the water.

A huge thank you to the team at Ardingly Water Sports Centre for their support and for helping to make the day so enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Days like this give our members the chance to try new things, build confidence and, most importantly, have lots of fun together!

Help us fill our feed with your KangaTrail adventures!

We love seeing families and friends out exploring the trail, and these two look like they’re having a brilliant time discovering one of our kangaroos.

If you’re taking part in KangaTrail 2026, don’t forget to share your photos using and tag Kangaroos so we can see your adventures.

While you’re out, keep an eye out for the letters on each kangaroo. Find all 12, work out the mystery word and submit your entry for a chance to win a prize.

The trail is free to enjoy and runs until 6 September, so there’s still plenty of time to join in.

If you’re enjoying KangaTrail and would like to support Kangaroos, any donation, big or small, will help us continue providing activities and opportunities for children and adults with learning disabilities and additional needs.

We need your help to unlock £30,000 for Kangaroos this Christmas.

We’re hoping to take part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, a national matched funding campaign that doubles donations, giving us the opportunity to raise £30,000 to support even more children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, along with their families.

But first, we need to secure £7,500 in pledges by Wednesday 26 August, and we need your help to reach it.

A pledge can come from one generous individual, family or business, or several people joining together to make up the total. The money isn’t paid until after the campaign finishes in December, but these pledges must be secured before the deadline for us to take part.

Once our pledge target is secured, £7,500 becomes £15,000 through matched funding, before any public donations are made during the Big Give Christmas Challenge, which runs from 1 to 8 December. During campaign week, public donations are then matched too, helping every gift go even further.

Could you help us reach our £7,500 pledge target?

If you, your family, your business or someone you know may be able to make a pledge, we really need to hear from you. Please contact mailto:[email protected] for more information.

And if you can’t pledge yourself, please share this post. You never know who in your network may be able to help.

Together we can help more families experience friendship, connection and support at a time of year that can often feel isolating.

A huge GOOD LUCK to Matt and Nolan, who are taking on an incredible challenge for Kangaroos tomorrow!

They’ll be walking the entire 100-mile length of the South Downs Way, from Wi******er to Eastbourne, non-stop, with no sleep and carrying everything they need on their backs, aiming to complete it within 36 hours.

Matt chose to support Kangaroos because his own family understands first-hand just how important the support and respite we provide can be.

We are incredibly grateful to Matt and Nolan for taking on such a huge challenge for us, and to everyone who has supported their fundraising so far.

As a charity, we rely on fundraising to help us continue providing clubs, trips and activities for people with learning disabilities and additional needs. Every person who chooses to run, walk, swim, cycle, climb or take on a challenge for Kangaroos helps us continue that work. It really does make a huge difference, and we never take that support for granted.

Matt has already raised an incredible amount, and there’s still time to support him and Nolan as they take on The Dirty 100.

Good luck Matt and Nolan. We’ll be cheering you on every mile of the way!
