Thomson joins partners in Lusaka, Zambia, as media freedom and digital rights take centre stage around World Press Freedom Day.
The city will host the UNESCO Global Conference on 4โ5 May, alongside RightsCon, which runs from 5โ8 May.
On 5 May, Thomson will take part in the AGILE session โThe Future of Media Developmentโ alongside consortium partners including Internews, ARTICLE 19, Free Press Unlimited, Fojo Media Institute and CFI.
The panel looks to where media development goes next. It will look at practical approaches that are already showing results and what they can teach us about designing programmes that deliver real impact.
Through the AGILE project, Thomson is supporting independent media to strengthen viability, innovation and resilience in challenging environments. We look forward to joining partners, practitioners, donors and media leaders in Lusaka to share lessons and discuss practical strategies for the future of public interest media.
