Thomson is proud to support Rukhshana Media and its founder and editor-in-chief, Zahra Joya, as they build a sustainable future for vital journalism that tells the stories of what life is like for women and girls living under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.

Our support has included advice on governance and organisational structure, as well as helping Rukhshana assemble a dedicated board of trustees.

Now, Zahra is asking for help to keep paying 10 courageous women reporters working secretly inside Afghanistan. Despite severe restrictions and the constant risk to their safety, they continue to document the realities of life for women under the Taliban.

The JustGiving campaign aims to allow these journalists to continue their vital reporting while supporting their families at a time when Afghan women are excluded from most forms of employment.
