Bashar Alhroub | Resurrection: An Artistic Exploration of War, Trauma, and Universality

P21 Gallery presents Resurrection, Bashar Alhroub’s latest body of work, curated by Fortunata Calabró. Through a new series of paintings created in the aftermath of the devastating events that have reshaped life in Palestine since October 2023, Alhroub reflects on a period in which artistic practice became both a means of witnessing and a form of endurance. The exhibition explores themes of loss, memory, and survival through a visual language that is both deeply personal and profoundly universal, while pointing to the fragile possibility of renewal amid devastation. We look forward to welcoming you to Resurrection at P21 Gallery.

Introduction to Reading Tatreez: A Hands-On Workshop

What does it mean to read Tatreez?

Join us at P21 Gallery for Introduction to Reading Tatreez: A Hands-On Workshop, led by Palestinian embroiderer Haya Mustafa Natsheh of .h.

This introductory workshop invites participants to explore Tatreez as a visual tradition shaped by generations of Palestinian women. Through a short illustrated introduction and guided stitching, you'll learn how to recognise and read traditional motifs, understand the foundations of Palestinian Tatreez, and stitch a traditional motif to take home.

No previous embroidery experience is required, and all materials are provided.

"Belonging(S) Beyond Borders"
A two-day exhibition on cultural belonging

26th & 27th June 2026

For the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2026, The Palestine Collective is organising a two-day exhibition on cultural belonging, in collaboration with the P21 Gallery.



‘Belonging(s) Beyond Borders’ engages Architects and artists who confront diaspora and displacement in their homelands through versatile expressions of cultural identity and belonging. Emerging from countries such as Palestine, Sudan, and Yemen, our contributors are united by a shared desire to belong in London’s multicultural landscape from afar. Their media range from architectural drawings and renders to films, physical models, and collective object displays. Drawing on oral histories, archives, and personal items, the exhibition reimagines lost spaces and rituals that foster solidarity in exile.

We value inclusivity and welcome all visitors, whether they have experienced diaspora themselves or wish to learn more about it.

Alongside the exhibition, we will host a speaking event exploring diaspora and belonging through architectural practice, as well as workshops on Palestinian tatreez and Arabic calligraphy.
