We can't believe it has been two months since our first Dining in the Garden Supper Club Series. Chef Johnny Kiernan brought together a stellar team to cook a menu inspired by Sicily but sourced entirely locally, including our Bermondsey neighbours , Father Tom Jones.

Swipe through to see some snaps from the evening by talented J Y Mak including the stunning burnt honey, peach and bay leaf meringue roulade!

We took a little break for the summer, but we are back this autumn with more delicious food in the garden. Our next date is September 18th and subscribers to our newsletter will hear first who the chosen chef will be...👀

Otherwise stay tuned for our announcement next week!

The New Story Garden is here and tomorrow is our official public community launch day. 🎉

We had a soft launch event earlier in July and welcomed a smaller group to see the buildings and space and celebrate the hard work it has taken to get us to that point. There was delicious food, poetry by Samika and Brenn, speeches and lots of garden exploration. We are so excited to do it again tomorrow and officially open the space for the summer.

After the launch event tomorrow (11-3), we will begin our summer opening hours:
Thursdays and Fridays 10 - 5
Last Saturday of the Month 11 - 3:30 p.m. (for special family sessions, registration essential)

See you in the garden!

Join us in celebrating the launch of the new Story Garden! 🌻

Over the past few years, we’ve been working hard to transform this brownfield site on York Street (nicknamed the ) into our first ever permanent community garden space.

From start to finish, we worked with local (and wider) communities, including students, young people, local residents, volunteers, and businesses, all with the aim of creating a space that’s not only beautiful but can be enjoyed for generations to come. Our new Story Garden carries on the legacy of all our previous gardens. We have learnt so much while completing the build, so as we near the end, we are inviting you down this summer to celebrate the new space! ☀️

Expect a day of fun activities for the whole family, live performances, delicious food & drinks, as well as Grass on the Grass! A free family-friendly workshop with brass quintet, Connaught Brass at 1 p.m. (generously supported by the Community Programme)

That's a wrap on the spring sessions of UnCooked! 🔪

Uncooked was a spin-off version of our regular Cook Club, exploring healthy recipes we can make with minimal or no cooking equipment, adapting to our Floating Garden space. Young people learned about ancient food preservation methods like pickling and the health benefits of fermented food, all while learning essential cooking skills like using a knife safely.

It wouldn't be a Global Generation project without connecting deeper to the plants we are eating. In 'UnCooked!', young people are encouraged to pay attention to the colours, patterns, sensations of the vegetables, all whilst learning their stories and enjoying the coots, moorhens and geese swimming by.

Using our garden on a barge as inspiration, we also made stamps capturing the textures and patterns of the living and non-living world around us using eco plasticine.
