The new Church of England House of Bishop's teaching document Hope for All Creation invites us to recognise the Earth and all life as God's beloved creation, and the crisis it is going through. As we prepare for the Season of Creation, this first theme encourages us to turn to face creation, recognising its diversity, interconnectedness and the boundaries we as humanity have crossed.

The Church of England House of Bishop’s new teaching document explores how Christian faith shapes the Church's response to climate change, biodiversity loss and the wider environmental crises.

As we approach the Season of Creation (September 1 to October 4) and the Festival of Creation in Christ, Hope for All Creation offers a theological framework to help churches think, pray and act faithfully in caring for God's world.

Today is World Refugee Day.

What does welcome look like?

Sometimes it looks like a shared meal. Sometimes it looks like help navigating a complex system. Sometimes it looks like a conversation over a cup of tea.

Sometimes it is simply knowing that someone sees you, values you and is willing to walk alongside you.

Sometimes it is the quiet act of making space for someone to belong.

Across the Diocese of London, churches are offering friendship, practical support and welcome to refugees and asylum seekers rebuilding their lives in the UK.

At Earl's Court, a community café run in partnership with welcomes up to 100 people each week. What began as a response to people displaced by conflict has grown into a thriving community where people can share food, practise English, receive practical support and, perhaps most importantly, find a sense of belonging.

As we mark World Refugee Day, we give thanks for the many churches, volunteers and communities across the Diocese of London who are living out Christ's call to welcome the stranger through friendship, hospitality and hope.
