The government has set up a new taskforce to tackle misogyny, with End Violence Against Women (EVAW) from the women's sector being one of the organisations sitting on it.

We hope it will be an opportunity for more recognition of the importance of our sector as a whole, not just in tackling VAWG, but in driving social change.

Older women’s rights are women’s rights...

Yet older women’s experiences can become increasingly invisible in policy, research, public services and debate.

Our new report, 'Older Women’s Voices' brings together the findings of WRC’s September 2026 online consultation, which gathered older women’s experiences, concerns and proposals to inform the women’s sector’s collective civil society report to the UN CEDAW Committee.

Tomorrow is International Equal Pay Day, but equal pay is only part of the picture...

Black women founders received just 0.14% of UK venture capital investment over the last decade.

In a decade, investment went to just 13 Black women founders, compared with 3,775 White men.

THIS IS A NATIONAL CRISIS.

When women are shut out of investment, they are shut out of opportunities to build businesses, create jobs and generate wealth.

The gender pay gap and the investment gap are connected. Both reflect systems that continue to undervalue women.

Women's organisations are under increasing pressure.

In WRC's 2024 Membership Survey, 55% of women's organisations identified the funding crisis as one of the biggest issues facing the sector, up from 40% the previous year.

Violence against women does not end with age, affecting women at every stage of life...

🕯 Since 2020, at least 138 women aged 66 and over have been killed by men in the UK.
🕯 Nearly one in five women killed by men were over 66.
🕯 Of these cases, almost a third involved a son or grandson as the main suspect and are also at greater risk of being killed by a stranger.
