White Ribbon Scotland

White Ribbon Scotland Men working together to end violence against women The White Ribbon Scotland campaign works with men in Scotland who want to end violence against women.

We are part of a global campaign of men and boys committed to taking action to stop violence against women. Violence against women is a human rights scandal around the world and here in Scotland where a domestic violence incident is recorded every 10 minutes. Our focus is on involving men, but we welcome the support of women too. We work collaboratively with women's organisations and urge men to s

upport their work. You can get involved by making a pledge, becoming a speaker, coming to one of our events and lots more. Email [email protected] to find out more.

A reminder that the Scottish Governmentโ€™s Fund to Leave is open to applications. The fund offers women based in Scotland up to ยฃ1,000 for essentials to support the costs of leaving, planning to leave or staying left from an abusive relationship. This might include costs related to moving home or increasing safety to enable a woman to remain in her own home.

The fund is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis by fund delivery partners, which include participating Womenโ€™s Aid services and other specialist delivery services.

Application and participating services details are available here: https://ow.ly/TEPJ50YeXJP

It matters that members of communities play their part in addressing violence against women.

This is also why White Ribbon Scotland supports people within local communities to launch their own White Ribbon Scotland Status Project. Through this we support men and women to work across their community to reach out to men and boys; educating them about what violence against women is, why they have a role to play in helping to end it and what that role is.

If you would like to start a ' Staus Project' in your community contact us through [email protected] to have a no obligation discussion about how to do that.

In the meantime, take part in surveys like this to support the work being undertaken by terrific organisations working in your area.

Last few days to take part in our community survey - we'd love your input ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Sexual violence affects individuals, families, and communities, and we believe meaningful change happens when a wide range of voices are heard.

By sharing your views, youโ€™re helping us understand the issues that matter most here in Shetland, what kind of support is most needed, and how our organisation can best support survivors of sexual violence, along with driving positive behaviour change in our community.

If you have 5-10 minutes, please complete our short survey before midnight on Sunday 15th Feb 2026 and help guide the future of our work:
๐Ÿ‘‰ https://form.typeform.com/to/LQDrzs91

Everyone is welcome to complete the survey, regardless of personal experience, and thereโ€™s no expectation for you to share any personal details or anything that feels difficult.

If male allies want to learn about violence against women and why we all need to speak up about our opposition to it, we need to listen to women and understand.

Men ask us, "What can I do to help end violence against women?"
Here's some excellent suggestions.

Sexual violence is preventable โ€” and ending it is a collective responsibility.
Small, everyday actions matter: believing survivors, challenging harmful attitudes, and choosing respect in our words and behaviour.
Change starts with what we tolerate, what we challenge, and how we show up for one another. ๐Ÿ’œ

You are not alone, we are here for you.

Staff at all of Scotland's R**e Crisis Centres can help if you are a survivor. Sharing intimate images without consent is a crime. They will support you whether you would like to report to the police or not.

If your intimate images have been shared without your consent, this is not your fault and is support available. We are here to support you.

At the Compass Centre, we can support you to speak about your experience and can support you to report to the police, if you wish. However, we will always respect and support your decision. (To highlight our Child and Adult Protection duties; if we were really worried about your safety or the safety of someone else, we'd have to pass this on to duty social work).

If you are under 18, you can report an online image anonymously and the Internet Watch Foundation can try to remove it from a website.
