It’s with a heavy heart that we call time on the Strathclyde University Foodbank Society.
For the last 7 years we have been blown away by the support from staff and students for some for the most vulnerable in our society. Thank you to everyone who has ever volunteered or donated funds or supplies to help us in our mission of combating food poverty.
Many of our members have moved on and away from the university, and are no longer able to volunteer in running this committee. We hope that in future other students can pick up the torch and champion the cause of food poverty in our university community. Our social media accounts will be archived but the mailboxes and email accounts will no longer be monitored.
We hope that one day the time will come when food banks are no longer necessary. But the job that the Trussell Trust and other food banks in Glasgow do is still as important as ever. We encourage everyone to continue supporting by donating, fund raising or volunteering anything they can to their local foodbank.
We have detailed the contact details and opening hours of our long term partners at the Glasgow North East Foodbank above for anyone interested in donating or volunteering.
Thank you again for your support over the years.
For the final time,
Mon the foodbanks 🌿
