Update on building works at The Boardwalk 🚧

Building works are now underway at The Boardwalk and will continue for several months. We currently expect only minimal disruption and are working closely with the construction team to reduce any impact wherever possible. We understand, however, that this may raise questions and concerns for our customers and we want to assure you that our team is on hand to answer any questions and support customers throughout the works.

✅ The venue will remain open and operating business as usual throughout the works
✅ Access will be available via the Brunswick Street entrance only
❌ The Hutcheson Street entrance and courtyard will not be accessible during this time

We have already contacted all customers with upcoming bookings. For future bookings, we will work closely with you if we believe your booking may be affected and a member of our venue team will contact you directly to discuss any contingency plans.

For full details and the latest updates, visit our website. If you have any questions or concerns about a booking, please contact [email protected] or call us on 0141 575 3001.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these important works are carried out. 💙

Accessibility starts at the front door 🚪✨ We’re delighted to share that a major accessibility upgrade has been completed at The Boardwalk, thanks to funding from the FCC Communities Foundation’s Scottish Action Fund.

Six sets of heavy fire doors, installed in 2005, have been replaced with new automatic-opening fire doors, making it easier for visitors to move around the venue independently.

💙 Why does this matter?

✅ Easier movement for visitors with a variety of access needs
✅ Better access to our theatre, studios and offices
✅ An improved experience for the 50,000+ people expected to visit The Boardwalk next year

🗣️ Fran Armour, Head of Development at Impact Arts, said:

“Accessibility starts at the front door. This investment is about much more than a building improvement. It’s about ensuring people can enter The Boardwalk with confidence, independence, and dignity. We want everyone to feel welcome from the moment they arrive, and these improvements bring us another step closer to creating a venue that is truly accessible to all.”

A huge thank you to FCC Communities Foundation for helping us create a more welcoming, inclusive and accessible space for audiences, artists, community groups and partner organisations across Glasgow. 🙌💙
