Leith Community Archers

Leith Community Archers Edinburgh Community Archery Group Around 100 people attended the event which was a great success.

Leith Community Archers began with a community showing of the film Brave, along with a trial archery session back in February 2013. This was organised by Inspiring Leith part of a new community project across Scotland called Link Up run by Inspiring Scotland and hosted by Bethany Christian Trust in Leith. The aim was to build community around activities and see people gaining and sharing skills. U

ltimately the aim is was to see increased opportunity for people and a stronger sense of community. Although Leith Community Archers is now an independent registered charity in its own right, it holds to the ethos of community empowerment, equality for all and community bonding and development. We run regular archery sessions every Thursday during term-time at Leith Academy sports hall. All our coaches are volunteers and have an archery instructor qualification through Archery GB. Family sessions run for 30 minutes from 6.30-7pm and 7.15- 7.50pm and adult sessions from 8-8.45pm. There are regular taster sessions for people who want to give archery a try – please get in touch if you would like to book a session.

And that's a wrap!!!

Due to school exams in the hall, that is now us finished in the school until the 4th June.

Thanks to everyone who attended this season, instructed, coached, helped out and ran the session. Without all of you, we wouldn't be able to do the amazing sport we all love.

Booking slots will open a week before we return to Archery, in between this we will have our AGM where you can see how the club has been doing, future plans and volunteer to actually help run the club!
