Today is the first Scottish Employability Day! This year's theme is .

We're a charity supporting disabled and neurodivergent people and those with long-term health conditions across Edinburgh and the Lothians to find, build and maintain great jobs. We also work with employers to help their recruitment and employment be more inclusive.

This Scottish Learning Disability Week we're celebrating the jobseekers and workers we support, their talents, their choices, and what matters to them in the workplace.

Being seen at work is more than just being noticed. It means being listened to, respected, and valued as member of the team. We work alongside clients and employers every day to build accessible workplaces focused on what people can do.

Welcome to Aoife, Dale and Isla, who have joined our growing team of Lived Experience Trainers! We're thrilled to have them on board and are looking forward to working alongside them.

Our training has been developed with the support of an advisory group and is delivered by neurodivergent and autistic trainers.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded BBC Children in Need funding!

This grant will fund Getting Ready for Work Training and East Lothian Inclusion Works, for Young Disabled People, aged 15 – 18-year-old and will help Into Work support 480 young disabled people over three years.

It will contribute to specialist staff who provide one-to-one guidance, group activities, confidence-building sessions, employability training and transition support for young people preparing to leave school.

How do you navigate Edinburgh in August?

The biggest arts festival in the world comes to the city this month with hundreds of shows taking place every day. For many, this can be extremely overwhelming. More people, busy public transport, and routine changes.

We've put together a short guide on claiming free sensory kits, finding quiet spots in the city to decompress, and navigating the commute.

Did you know we offer free online sessions? Aut Support Works! starts on 17 August.

This series of autistic-led online sessions provides tools and insights to help improve your working life.

Understand what it means to be autistic and how to navigate different stages of employment, from applying for jobs to progressing your career.

Friends, family members, and others informally supporting autistic people are also welcome to attend.

Mondays, August to October 2026.

All sessions are free and take place via Zoom. Book for as many as you would like on our events page.

Did you know that Disability Pride Month originated in America? Upon signing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, each July is celebrated globally as Disability Pride Month.

In the UK, Disability Pride Month has been celebrated since 2015. Over time, it has evolved from a day of celebration to a month-long event. The flag was created by Ann Magill in 2019 and refreshed in 2021. But what do the colours on the disability flag represent?

- Grey for protest against ableism
- Green for Sensory Disabilities
- Blue for Mental Health
- White for Undiagnosed Disabilities
- Gold for Neurodiversity/Neurodivergence
- Red for Physical Disabilities

Coloured stripes are placed diagonally across the flag to show how disabled people have to cut across barriers in society. Disability Pride Month is a chance for workplaces to reflect on their accessibility and to show support for the disabled community.
