Venture Scotland Venture Scotland UK runs an outdoor-based personal development programme for young people aged 16-30, who face complex and difficult problems.

A youth-led charity supporting young adults to improve their mental health, find purpose, and build brighter futures through powerful outdoor experiences, connection, and support. On Tuesday, our Edinburgh group set off for a day of canoeing on the Union Canal. 🛶

As we always say, "It's not about the canoes" because whilst the activities are all so much fun, we know that they give us so much more than just fun.

They give us the space to learn how to communicate with your boat-mate, the time to build trust as you try to keep balanced and the confidence that comes from trying something new and absolutely smashing (aka, not falling in!).

And of course, lots of splashing and laughter.

A massive thank you to the incredible team at Absolute Escapes who hosted a brilliant quiz in aid of Venture Scotland on Wednesday!

Absolute Escapes have generously supported us since 2018, and this month they have gone above and beyond with their Venture Round Scotland challenges and rounded off the month with a quiz, raising an incredible total of £1,620! 🌟

Special shout-out to Rachel from Absolute Escapes, who brilliantly hosted the quiz.
James, Fern, Bryn and Paul took part in the quiz and came in a very respectable 4th place - they did their best not to come in 1st in case there were claims of a fix. 😜

Huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible supporters who took part in Venture Round Scotland 2026! 🌟

Over the course of September, our lovely supporters covered 7,336.65 miles by running, walking and wheeling. From hitting daily step targets to walking the whole of the West Highland Way, miles were clocked up every single day of the month.

And importantly, they also raised an incredible £5,301 - this money will help to change (and undoubtably save) the lives of many people across Scotland. 💛

AND, they also covered more miles this year than last year!! 🚴🏃

Last week, our Edinburgh group set off for their Challenge residential at Beecraigs. 🌟

They spent their time solving team-building puzzles, building trust through mindfulness activities, eating some great food (as always) and having plenty of great chats around the fire whilst roasting marshmallows. 🔥

On Tuesday, they spent time discovering Becraigs Country Park, spotting plenty of mushrooms and admiring the changing seasons. 🍂🍃

We're nearly at the end of September, which means our Venture Round Scotland challenge is coming to an end! 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

We've loved seeing everyone out and about, clocking up miles and raising so much money for Venture Scotland.

We're now at an incredible 6,804 miles covered (which is just 370 miles off last year's effort - can we beat this with two days to go?! Huge cycle, anyone?) and our incredible community has raised an amazing £2,768! 🌟

Today, we said farewell to the incredible, wonderful, custard-loving, wellie boot-emptying, unbelievably empathic, forever kind, connections-queen, and just the best of the best, Kat Jackson. 💛

Four years ago, Kat joined us as our Outreach & Support worker in Glasgow after originally joining us as a volunteer, and she has gone on to change (and undoubtedly save) the lives of hundreds of participants who have joined our Young People & Venture On programmes over the years.

Her kindness, empathy, understanding and genuine love for what we do have known no bounds, and we'll be forever grateful to have had her as part of our team for the last four years.

She has touched the lives of many and changed the lives of even more. We're so excited to see where her journey takes her next, and we have no doubt she'll continue to be a shining light and beacon of hope for everyone she meets!

We'll miss you SOOOO much! Thank you for everything you've done for Venture Scotland and everyone in our sphere. 💛

Venture Round Scotland update 🌟

We're well into September now, and the miles just keep adding up! As of today, we've covered an incredible 2,875.42 miles and raised £2,593 - thank you to everyone who's walked, run, cycled, or donated so far. 🙌

Every mile is bringing us closer to our goal, and every donation will make a real difference.

We're so grateful for the support so far, and we know we can go even further before this challenge wraps up. If you haven't donated yet, now's a great time to jump in and be part of the final push!
