The Neuro Therapy Place offers affordable oxygen therapy, physiotherapy and complementary therapies for people living with neurological and long-term conditions.

This session explains how carers can use the centre as a safe, fully accessible place to bring the person you care for - giving carers valuable time to yourself while the person you care for receives therapy. We will cover what is on offer, how it works, and how to access subsidised services.

If you’re struggling to manage your energy bills like Patrick, then VOCAL can help. Our Safe and Warm service provides specialist advice on reducing bills and managing debt. Visit our website to find out more and get in touch: https://ow.ly/HM2050Z7yYl

A group of carers recently took part in a community graffiti workshop at the Edinburgh Remakery.

The workshop explored the art-form of graffiti, and attendees used different materials to create pieces of art that explored what Leith means to them. These pieces were then used to inspire a mural by artist Ross MacRae outside the Remakery.

Today, the carers who attended the workshop visited the completed mural and signed their work! Next time you are passing through the Kirkgate at the bottom of Leith Walk, stop to admire the mural and the contributions made by VOCAL and other local charities.

This Carers Week, we are launching our new report, 'The cost of unpaid caring'. It highlights the growing financial pressures many carers are facing, from rising household bills and travel costs to reduced income and difficulty accessing support.

If this reflects your experience, we want carers to know that you’re not alone and that more needs to be done to support carers’ financial wellbeing. Please read and share to help raise awareness of carer poverty and the change needed https://ow.ly/sqH850Z9g1z

This week is Carers Week, and throughout the week we'll be sharing anonymised stories of carers' experiences. Listen to Fiona talk about caring for her father and brother, and the impact this had on her working life.

Fiona’s story will be familiar to many people - Carers UK found that 600 people a day give up work each day to care. While this will be the right decision for some carers, for others it will lead to significant financial hardship.

If you are struggling financially, or finding it hard to balance paid work and caring, get in touch with VOCAL. We run regular events, such as a peer support group for working carers, advice on accessing a break, and wellbeing sessions like yoga and mindfulness.
