At the Root Arts CIC At the Root Theatre is a theatre company working across West Lothian with children, young people and adults.

At the Root Arts CIC is a Community Interest Company that roots art within communities, empowers audiences and participants, and creates opportunities to engage and promote creativity. We believe in amplifying and empowering the voices of different communities, people and places through theatre, music and film. We run a creative programme of workshops for 0-18 year olds across various locations in

West Lothian. Our workshop ethos focuses on confidence building, skill development and nurturing creativity. We believe in facilitating playful, joyful and creative spaces. We also support early-career artists through different paid work, training and network opportunities. Our ethos is to provide a supportive, nurturing and kind environment for artists to grow, learn and celebrate their skills. At the Root Theatre was set up 2015 to facilitate creative, playful and accessible spaces within West Lothian. Our workshops started in Bathgate, but now we run across West Lothian with over 100 children and young people engaging on a weekly basis.

An important part of our ethos here at At the Root Arts is giving kids agency and ownership over the events - and our kids and young people pulled it out the bag on Saturday!

Our cast of the Revenge Party put on a great bake sale with lots of delicious treats πŸ˜‹ Abby made and sold fabulous earrings! And then our Emily made some plant pots to fit with our theme.
