Another two weeks 👇

Scotland’s Gas Network (SGN ) have advised us that they now need to replace the broken gas pipework at Houston Road in Livingston.
They were not able to successfully make emergency repairs due to the poor condition of the pipes, therefore replacement is now necessary.
This means that the emergency road closure that is currently in place will remain for an estimated two further weeks on Houston Road for this work to be carried out safely.
SGN would like to apologise for any inconvenience while this essential repair work is ongoing, and we will continue to share any updates that we receive from them.

West Lothian Council understand that the impact of these, and nearby ongoing road works on the A899, is causing delays to travel in the area.
While we co-ordinate scheduled work with utilities to minimise any impact, it is not possible to do this for emergency works that arise, such as a gas leak.
It would also not be possible to cancel or delay other ongoing scheduled works in the area without having a greater negative impact going forward.
Those affected are thanked for their patience and understanding at this time.

Calling all witches, ghosts, ghouls and Halloween enthusiasts! 🕷️🦇

It’s time to get your spooky on, Pumpherston!

Whether you’re going for a few perfectly placed pumpkins, a garden full of skeletons or transforming your home into something straight out of a horror film, we want to see it! 💀🏚️

We’re looking for Pumpherston’s BEST DRESSED HALLOWEEN HOUSE & GARDEN, and there’s a lovely prize up for grabs!

🏆 THE PRIZE

The winning household will receive a beautiful Autumn Hamper, packed with seasonal goodies! 🍂🎁

👻 HOW TO ENTER

🕸️ Simply send a private message to this page with your name and address to register your entry.

🕸️ Closing date for entries is Thursday 29th October. No entries will be accepted after this date.

🕸️ Your house, garden or both must be decorated and ready for judging on Saturday 31st October.

🕸️ A group of judges will visit the entered properties to admire your spooky creations and select our winner.

🕸️ The judges will be looking for creativity, imagination, effort and, of course, a little Halloween magic! You don’t need to spend a fortune to impress us.

🕸️ The judges’ decision will be final.

🕸️ Only properties within Pumpherston are eligible, and entries must be registered in advance to be included in the judging.

🕸️ Please keep decorations safe and ensure pavements and public walkways remain clear.

🕸️ Addresses provided will be used solely for organising and judging the competition and won’t be published.

🎃 JUDGING DAY – SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER! 🎃

We’ll announce our winner following judging.

And remember, bigger doesn’t always mean better! A little imagination, creativity and Halloween spirit can go a long way.

So dust off those cobwebs, polish your pumpkins and get those skeletons out of the cupboard (we know some of you have a few! 🤭💀).

We're excited to announce that we'll be running a Best Dressed Halloween House & Garden Competition this October!

So, if you're already planning cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons, witches, ghosts, or a full-on haunted house, now's the time to start thinking!

Judging will take place on 31st October, with the winner receiving a beautiful autumn hamper filled with seasonal goodies.

This is just a little heads-up for now – full details, entry information and competition rules will be announced soon, so keep an eye on our page.
We can't wait to see Pumpherston looking fabulously frightful! 🎃🕸️🍂

Police Appeal to trace Missing 50 year old woman in Craigshill Livingston.

Police Scotland urges the public to help find Dianne MacIntyre who has been reported missing from the Craigshill area of Livingston.

She was last seen on 11th October 2026 at 12:00 in the Craigshill near to Almondbank Drive.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare, with searches ongoing.

Dianne is described as being 5ft 4, slim build, brown hair, with tattoos on her arm, she may go by other surnames.

If anyone has seen Dianne or knows where she might be please get in touch with us immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3283 Sunday 11th October 2026.
