We've just received a message to say that someone is going around doors locally, asking people to sign up to support deaf children and requesting BANK DETAILS at the door!

We don't currently know who they are representing or whether this is legitimate, but please DO NOT hand over your bank details or financial information at the door unless you are completely satisfied that the person and organisation are genuine.

If you would like to support a charity, take the charity's details and make your donation independently through their official website after checking them out.

Please particularly mention this to elderly or vulnerable neighbours and relatives who may not see this post.

Better to be cautious.

MISSING CAT – PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT

This wee tabby hasn’t been seen since late last night. She would normally be home without fail for breakfast, so her family are getting increasingly worried that she’s perhaps wandered into someone’s house, garage, shed or hut and been accidentally shut in.

Could everyone nearby please have a quick check of sheds, garages, huts and outbuildings, and keep an eye out around gardens too.

Hopefully she’s just found herself a cosy spot or conned someone into thinking she needs fed!

Please comment or message if you’ve seen her — even a possible sighting would help.

Anyhoo....there is an ECLIPSE OVER PUMPHERSTON TONIGHT! ☀️🌘

The clouds are not playing nicely though, but should still be an experience

So get yourselves outside from about 6pm and keep an eye on how the light around us begins to change.

Never look directly at the Sun without proper certified eclipse glasses

📸 Get your photos — safely — and pop them in the comments afterwards. It would be lovely to see the eclipse from different parts of the village - don't point your phone at the Sun though. Now we just need those clouds to clear at precisely the right moment... 🤞☀️🌘

Something spooky is coming to Pumpherston... 👻🎃

We're excited to announce that we'll be running a Best Dressed Halloween House & Garden Competition this October!

So, if you're already planning cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons, witches, ghosts, or a full-on haunted house, now's the time to start thinking!

Judging will take place on 31st October, with the winner receiving a beautiful autumn hamper filled with seasonal goodies.

This is just a little heads-up for now – full details, entry information and competition rules will be announced soon, so keep an eye on our page.
