We are delighted to welcome Monifieth High School from Scotland to Jolaurabi School for a few wonderful days of learning, sharing and unforgettable experiences. We have so many exciting activities planned, bringing our students together to learn from one another, explore different cultures, share ideas and create beautiful memories. As we welcome our friends from Scotland to Kenya, we celebrate not only the knowledge we share but also the friendships we continue to nurture across borders. We hope our visitors experience the warmth of our Kenyan hospitality, the richness of our culture and the incredible spirit of our Jolaurabi family. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped build and strengthen this wonderful partnership. May this friendship continue to grow, inspiring our children to dream bigger, embrace diversity and believe that together, we can make a difference.

For many years, Sue has been an incredible friend, supporter and sponsor of the children. Her kindness, generosity and commitment have made a remarkable difference in so many lives.

What makes Sue truly special is that, despite her age, she continues to give her time, energy and heart to supporting the children. She collects school uniforms, makes donations and constantly looks for ways to help give children better opportunities.

Her dedication and commitment are truly unique and inspiring. Sue reminds us that making a difference has no age limit, when you have a heart for children and a passion for giving, there is always something you can do.

Today, we celebrate our amazing teachers and teaching assistants at Jolaurabi School. You don’t simply teach lessons, you plant seeds of confidence, character, knowledge and hope in the hearts of our children.

The Pavilion where Everything Is Possible

At our Pavilion, learning has no limits. It is a place where ideas become projects, curiosity becomes creativity and dreams begin to take shape. Our learners are turning their knowledge into practical projects, exploring new ideas, solving problems and discovering talents they may never have known they had. Every project is a reminder that you don’t have to be perfect to start you just have to be willing to try, learn, create and keep going. We want our learners to believe in themselves, think boldly and understand that their hands and minds can create amazing things. We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to see the success of young men like Simon Sims, whose journey is a powerful reminder of what opportunity, education, encouragement and belief in a child can achieve.

Simon’s story began many years ago in Kenya, as one of the children who had the opportunity to be part of the Singing Children of Africa. Through education and the experience of travelling, performing and connecting with people through music, doors were opened that helped shape the person and performer he has become today.

For us at Educate the Kids, stories like Simon’s are at the heart of why we do what we do. Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their abilities, build confidence, receive an education and dream beyond the circumstances they were born into.

It is incredibly fulfilling to look back and see a young person who was once given an opportunity now thriving, sharing his talent and inspiring others. Simon’s journey shows that sometimes, one opportunity can change the entire direction of a child’s life.

We are so happy to see where Simon is today and we celebrate his achievements with enormous pride. His story is a beautiful part of the legacy of the Singing Children of Africa and education

Our Grade 1 learners are taking part in an important and practical lesson on health and safety protocols, learning how to keep themselves safe at home, at school and when enjoying time at the beach.

With the rainy season upon us, these lessons are especially important. Our little ones are learning about the simple precautions they can take, how to recognise potential dangers and how to make safe choices in their everyday lives.

The lesson is being led by Madam Winnie, one of our long-serving and dedicated teachers, whose years of experience, patience and care continue to make a difference in the lives of our children.

At Jolaurabi, we believe education It is about giving children the knowledge, confidence and life skills they need to grow, explore and stay safe
