Duncan Place Leith

Duncan Place Leith Welcome to Duncan Place: where good things happen! Community events, hourly room hire and office space for charities & not for profits.

A beautiful, historic building with a refurbished spacious interior in the heart of our community. Duncan Place Community & Enterprise Hub is now open! You have told us you would like art groups, health and fitness, support and advice, educational activities, social events, groups for children and young adults. We will begin working towards bringing these activities to Leith. Duncan Place is a 'pr

ofit for purpose' social enterprise with profit being returned to the building for maintenance, improvements, equipment and community events.

This week, on Thursday 25th June, we have our last adult Lego group before it goes on a summer break!

Starting at 7pm and running until 8:30pm, this group is a great chance for some relaxed creative time where you can make whatever colourful ideas spring to mind!

Coming to the group costs £1, you can pay by cash or card at reception when you get here, and if you’d like to let us know you’re coming you can book a space on Eventbrite (link in bio).

This session will be held in our Wee Duncan room, at a large table where we provide all the Lego you’ll need (we have loads)! We have the bright lights on, and we provide a hot drink during the session. Our building is wheelchair accessible and carers are very welcome (check our carers policy on our website!).

"I have just three things to teach. Simplicity, patience & compassion. These three are your greatest treasures:

Simple in actions and thoughts. You return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies.

Compassionate towards yourself and all beings."

Here are our Seasonal Stroll dates coming up in June and July!

We'll be meeting this week, Thursday 18th June, and will have normal fortnightly dates on Thursday 2nd July, Thursday 16th July and Thursday 30th Jul, all from 12noon to 1pm.

On each date we'll be strolling around a different location in the neighbourhood, which are yet to be decided!

As the days get sunnier and warmer, we're really enjoying getting out and about on these gentle hour long walks, having the chance to chat, take in some Vitamin D, and hear the birds sing. There's so much greenery out in Leith now, and so many beautiful flowers! If you're looking for a way to get outside for some light exercise in a relaxed group, then come along!

This group is free to attend, and you don't need to book. We meet at 11:55 in the Duncan Place Community Hub carpark, and head off at 12pm. Our pace is gentle, walking on paths that are well paved and mostly flat.

As this is a drop-in group please keep an eye on our socials, if the weather is bad (ie strong wind, very bad rain etc) the group will not go ahead!
