Our incredible new guide Mandy left her first ever group of guests wanting more - more stories, more knowledge, more of her time!

We are so proud of all of our guides, and when people like Mandy stand up and say yes, I think I'd like to do that - then take the training, go on other tours, decide on their tour topic, work with us to research, plan and design a route - seeing them beam on their tours with guests is everything!

New faces, new stories and lots of learning!

We are delighted to welcome some new trainees to Invisible Cities Glasgow, who are currently working towards becoming tour guides! Over the past few weeks, we have been getting out and about in Glasgow for tour practice, sharing stories, learning from each other and, most importantly, having plenty of fun along the way.

There is still more practice to come, but we are excited to see where their journey takes them! Watch this space, and hopefully you will be meeting some new Invisible Cities Glasgow guides on our tours soon!

Last Friday we hosted the first showing of our 10th birthday documentary.
A very short but very powerful story of Invisible Cities and our guides over the last decade - and what it truly means to be seen.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Joe McCraig who filmed and produced this with us - it gave a room of 150 people goosebumps when we showed it and we feel incredibly proud to see what the hard work really comes down to - meaningful chances for people who have experienced homelessness - with travel as a platform for creating change and impact.

The people and stories behind our Kelvin Hall display in Glasgow.

Last month we celebrated the launch of Your Stories: Discovering Cities Through People, our new community display at Kelvin Hall, created by Invisible Cities Glasgow together with Glasgow Life Museums.

But today, we want to tell you a little more about what makes this display so special: the people and the stories behind it.

Our guides, trainees, volunteers and Meet Me in Govan participants all took part in creating the display. Together, we explored three themes that are closely connected to Invisible Cities and our community: homelessness, support and tourism.

People shared their own experiences, memories and stories, and explored the museum collections to find objects that could help bring those stories to life. Some objects represent personal experiences and others tell stories about the work we do at Invisible Cities and the communities we are part of. Each story was written down and now sits alongside its chosen object for visitors to discover.

This project is all about people, experiences, connection and giving space to stories that deserve to be heard. Behind every object is a story and behind every story is a person.

Come and discover them at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, where Your Stories: Discovering Cities Through People will be on display until the end of February 2027.

We turned 10.
Here are just some of the many, many incredible moments from the last decade.
Over that time we've impacted the lives of over 35,000 people.

Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing some big and exciting plans for the future including our online resource Campus and a possible project in Europe..

So please do carry on supporting us, sharing, coming on tours and telling people that an Invisible Cities walking tour is without a doubt the best way to really see a city.

Did you know we also speak in schools and at education conferences?

This is Edinburgh guide Sonny with founder Zakia - and we promise the students faces were as happy as they looked!

Sonny spoke about important topics including health inequalities and homelessness.
Part of our social impact includes sharing first hand stories to students and young people, helping them to understand some of the challenges faced in society across our communities and give people the tools and signposts to ask for help and support others.
