“What are you doing for your holidays?”

With summer holidays just a week away, this question will be ringing across classrooms and playgrounds all over Scotland. Sadly, some of the kids we support won’t have an answer.

We 💜our fundraisers! Rachel and her dad hiked 30 miles for Anne Hope House yesterday, smashing their £1,000 fundraising target as they did so!

In Rachel's words: "We wanted to do something special together on Father's Day to raise awareness of the wonderful work of Anne Hope House. The 30 mile hike through the beautiful Pentland hills will be tough but fun, too. The ladies of Anne Hope House face hard things everyday with bravery and courage, so we thought the least we could do was to do this hard thing for them!"

Passing the Baton is celebrating 21 years! 🤝

Over two decades, our goal in Passing the Baton has been that vulnerable people experience increased connections in their community, meaningful friendships, reduced loneliness and greater social integration.

In the creation story God says, 'It is not good for man to be alone' (Genesis 2:18). God wants to bring transformation in our communities through friendship; like Jesus, He wants us to love our neighbours as ourselves.

We want to thank all staff and befrienders, and the courage and trust of those who have been befriended, whose lives have been enriched through these relationships.

Here's to the next 20 years! 💜

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week.

It is the world's largest campaign to inspire conversations about loneliness and promote connection activities happening across the world!

We have the Women's Group and Men's Group running in Edinburgh once a week at Hope Church, 9 Casselbank Street, EH6 5HA.

Women's Group - Tuesdays, 1-3pm
Men's Group - Thursdays, 10:30am - 12pm

Relaxed and welcoming spaces for coffee, a chat, games and activities.

We are back at The Refuel Summer Festival this year! From the 5th-9th of August in Aviemore we will have a stall as part of this family friendly Christian festival! 🎪

We will be holding “fuel for thought” talks around themes of our work, have “stories of hope” testimonies from people encountering Jesus’ love through Bethany’s services plus other ways to engage the whole family with the idea of homelessness and how we work towards ending it in Scotland.
