Earlier this week the Lord Provost unveiled a new Honour Board at the City Chambers to celebrate recipients of the Lord Provost Paul Bennett Volunteer Manager Award which is presented each year at our Inspiring Volunteer Awards ceremony to a volunteer manager, paid or unpaid, who has made an outstanding contribution to volunteering.

“As the City’s Volunteering Ambassador, I was very pleased to unveil a new Honour Board in the City Chambers which recognises the annual Winner of the ‘Lord Provost Paul Bennet Volunteer Manager Award’. This Award is an acknowledgement of the outstanding work that our many Volunteer Managers and Coordinators do in supporting, enabling, and nurturing the City’s volunteers, ensuring that volunteer’s time, energy, and insight is maximised.” Rt.Hon. Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh, Cllr, Robert Aldridge

We announced the introduction of this award category in memory of our late colleague Paul Bennett who, to many people, was the first person that they would meet, offering advice and guidance to volunteer managers.

First awarded in 2021, the recipient of the award this year is Alison Jeffrey Thom, Volunteer Co-ordinator of Action Porty.

Here you can view some photos of the unveiling attended by the deserving awardees.
