The BOSS Business Supplies Charity gives financial help to those in the UK office supples industry. Thank You!

The BOSS Business Supplies Charity was established in 1925 to financially assist people and their families who have previously or currently work within the business supplies industry, who may have fallen on hard times, or are unable to work due to disability and ill health. Anyone who has ever worked in the industry for at least two years in whatever capacity - be it for a retailer, dealer, wholesaler, or vendor - is eligible to apply to the Charity for financial assistance. The Charity has helped many people through the years from helping to pay for new windows, school uniforms for children, mobility items, plus regular housekeeping costs amongst many others. The Charity is managed by a group of trustees who meet twice a year, and who also help to raise funds. On this page you will find details of how to apply for assistance if you or someone you know requires it. We will also keep you up to date with what fundraising events are happening and details of how to get involved. Funeral Arrangements for Stanley Vaughan

We are now able to share the funeral arrangements for Stanley Vaughan, former Vice Chair and Chair of the BOSS Business Supplies Charity.

The funeral service will take place at 11.30 am on Thursday 12 November at The Chilterns Crematorium, Whielden Lane, Amersham, Buckinghamshire HP7 0ND.

Following the service, family, friends and colleagues are invited to attend a reception at Harewood Downs Golf Club, Cokes Lane, Chalfont St Giles, HP8 4TA.

Stanley's family have kindly asked us to help gauge the number of people wishing to attend. It would therefore be extremely helpful if anyone planning to pay their respects could confirm their attendance by emailing Society of Old Friends’ Honorary Secretary, Steve Robinson, at [email protected]

Stanley was a much-loved and respected figure within our industry and the Charity, and we know many colleagues and friends will wish to come together to remember him and celebrate his life.

Our thoughts remain with Stanley's family and friends at this sad time.

Remembering Stanley Vaughan

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Stanley Vaughan, a former Vice Chair and Chair of the BOSS Business Supplies Charity.

Stanley was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Kind, thoughtful and generous with his time, he was someone who genuinely cared about others and embodied the very values that our charity stands for.

His dedication and commitment to the charity, and to the people it exists to support, will always be remembered and appreciated.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Stanley will remember him not only for his contribution to the charity, but for the warmth, kindness and genuine interest he showed in those around him.

On behalf of everyone at the BOSS Business Supplies Charity, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Stanley's family, friends and all those who knew him.

Thank you, Stanley, for everything you gave to the charity and the difference you made. You will be fondly remembered.

What a fantastic turnout for our first BOSS Charity Walk & Talk at Brixworth Country Park yesterday!

It was lovely to see so many friends, colleagues and, of course, several of our four-legged friends joining us for a meander around Pitsford Reservoir.

We walked, talked, shared, connected and even offloaded a little along the way, all while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery.
Most importantly, we came together in memory of Clare, a much-loved BBSC beneficiary whom we lost far too soon, and to remind ourselves just how important it is to make time to talk, listen and check in with one another. 💚

A huge thank you to Amy Hutchinson, Garry Wright – BOSS North, James McKeever – BOSS Midlands and Mark Heath – BOSS South for helping to make the day happen.

Our thanks also go to Neil Johnston and Highlands Europe for keeping everyone going with snacks and drinks, and to Mark Heath and Office Power for sponsoring our very well-deserved pub lunch afterwards.

And thank you to everyone who joined us today, whether in person or from afar . It was wonderful to know that people across the industry were taking time out to walk, reflect and remember alongside us.

Today, on International Day of Charity, we’re celebrating the power of people coming together to support others.

For over 100 years, the BOSS Business Supplies Charity has been here to support current and former colleagues from across the Business Supplies industry when they need a helping hand.

But we couldn’t do it alone. Throughout the year, our Charity Day, Patrons’ Dinner, fundraising events, and other activities bring our industry together, creating opportunities to connect, have fun, and most importantly, raise vital funds to support those facing life’s challenges.

Every event attended, every donation made, and every show of support helps us continue to make a difference to the lives of industry colleagues who need us.
On this International Day of Charity, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supports the BOSS Business Supplies Charity.

Even more exciting news…

Having made it to the shortlist in the Campaign of the Year and Impactful Grant of the Year categories in the upcoming 2026 Association of Charitable Organisations (ACO) Awards, ACO has just announced that our chair, Kelly Hilleard, has been shortlisted in the Charity Leader of the Year category.

We’re absolutely delighted that her leadership and hard work have been recognised.

The winners will be announced at the ACO Annual Conference on 17 September 2026 at BMA House, Tavistock Square, London.

Carden Park, you did it again!

Despite a slightly soggy end, we had another fantastic day celebrating the work of our charity, filled with loads of fun, networking and generosity.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes, and to our amazing sponsors and Patrons. Your continued support - especially in such challenging times, helps us make a real difference to those in need in our industry.
