ANOTHER FRIEND LOST TO SU***DE. ANOTHER LIFE GONE TOO SOON.
I'm absolutely devastated to hear that another friend of mine has taken his own life. Another family left heartbroken. Another group of friends asking themselves why. Another man who was clearly fighting a battle that many of us never knew about.
I'm angry. I'm upset. And I'm absolutely heartbroken that we're still losing so many men to su***de.
PLEASE, I'M FU***NG BEGGING YOU. IF YOU'RE STRUGGLING, PLEASE REACH OUT. 💔
Reach out to me. Reach out to your family, your mates, your partner, a complete stranger if you have to. Just please, don't suffer in silence.
I don't care if it's 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning. I don't care if we haven't spoken in years. If you need someone to listen, message me.
You don't have to pretend you're okay. You don't have to put on a brave face. You don't have to be the strong one all the time.
CRY IF YOU NEED TO. SCREAM IF YOU NEED TO. TALK IF YOU NEED TO. BUT PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP.
As men, we're often made to feel that we need to be strong, that we need to bottle everything up and just get on with it.
Well, f**k that.
Reaching out doesn't make you any less of a man. Admitting you're struggling doesn't make you weak. And asking for help could be the very thing that saves your life.
I run Unwavering Warriors Men's Mental Health Group, with groups in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, and Driffield, East Yorkshire.
We don't have all the answers. We're not therapists. We're ordinary blokes who understand that sometimes life gets too much, and nobody should have to face those moments alone.
You can walk through our doors, have a brew, get things off your chest, have a laugh, have a cry or simply sit and listen. Nobody will judge you, and nobody will force you to talk.
We also have our WhatsApp support group, where our brothers look out for each other 24/7.
DRIFFIELD – EAST YORKSHIRE

CLECKHEATON – WEST YORKSHIRE

Please remember that you don't have to be at breaking point to ask for help. You don't have to wait until everything falls apart.
And to anyone sitting there right now thinking that nobody would care if they weren't here, please know that there are people who want to listen and help you through whatever you're facing.
Your story isn't over. Whatever you're going through right now, you deserve the chance to see things get better.
If you're in immediate danger, call 999. If you need someone to talk to right now, Samaritans are available free on 116 123, day or night.
To my friend, rest easy, mate. I wish things could have been different. My thoughts are with your family and everyone who loved you. 💔
And to every man reading this, please check on your mates. Not just the quiet ones. Check on the ones who are always laughing, always joking and always telling everyone they're fine.
Sometimes the biggest smiles hide the deepest pain.
ONE CONVERSATION COULD SAVE A LIFE. PLEASE, LET'S START HAVING THEM.
