Well done to all our cadets who entered the West District 5 a side football competition today. Our cadets made us proud, playing with passion and true sportsmanship.

Our Junior Sea Cadets came 3rd in a tight competition. The Junior Boys and Junior girls played in a combined Juniors league with the Junior Boys coming in 1st place. The Senior teams also played in a combined league with boys and girls and our team came in 1st place.

Thank you to everyone who made today possible.

Go team Laforey!

Today over 300 Sea Cadets paraded through London for the Annual National Trafalgar Day Parade. We had 3 members of TS Laforey involved in the event. Cadet Sergeant Knight and Marine Cadet Bright made us proud, taking part in the Parade as part of the Physical Training Display Team. Petty Officer Cinisi supported the parade as a drill instructor marching with the guard.

It was an amazing performance from all the cadets and volunteers involved, well done to all.

What an amazing week our cadets have had on the District Naval Experience week at HMS Raleigh alongside cadets from West District.

They have had an action packed week taking on the assault course, spending time with the phase 1 trainees learning what life is like in the Royal Navy, a tour of HM Naval Base Devonport, Fire Fighting, Damage control and Sea survival skills.

Alongside these fantastic opportunities they have improved their marching skills on the parade square, but more importantly, they have made new friends and bonded as a group.

Thank you to all the volunteers who supported the week and to the team at SCTC Raleigh for facilitating all the amazing opportunities.

What a fantastic evening last night at the TA Centre in Northampton for the investiture of the Lord Lieutenants Cadets for 2026/2027.

Petty Officer Cadet Varnsverry gave a fantastic speech as the outgoing Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Northamptonshire. We are delighted that he has passed the baton over to Leading Cadet Whitehead as this year’s incoming Lord Lieutenants Cadet.

This is one of the greatest honours a cadet can achieve and one they should be very proud of. Congratulations to both cadets on this achievement, we hope Leading Cadet Whitehead has a brilliant year.

Well done and thank you to Petty Officer Cadet Austen who carried the unit standard and escorted the Lord Lieutenant into the awards evening.

We are also delighted that during the evening our Training Officer, Lieutenant Hearn received a Certificate of Meritorious Service for his commitment and dedication to the Sea Cadets. A very well deserved award!
