Come one, come all to the Malt Shovel Tavern to see the presentation of the award for East Central Region CAMRA Pub Of The Year on Thursday 24th September.
Being a regional winner makes the pub one of the best 16 in the UK. So come along, enjoy a great range of ales and see YOUR local winner receive this prestigious award.
Also, on the night we will be having our own launch of the Good Beer Guide 2027, with several copies available at a reduced price.
Book sales will begin at 7pm (when they've gone they've gone) with the presentation being around 8pm.

After months of organising the skittles, Richard finally won the trophy. And it was against a packed field with 16 players being our best turn out to date.

As you may remember, last year Long Buckby RFC helped us to celebrate our 50th anniversary at their Beer Festival.
Well, they are now advertising their start of 2026 season beer festival on 11/12/13 September and all are welcome.

We had a great trip to the Chequers pub in Fenny Stratford yesterday on a minibus provided by Gayton and Tiffield community. The pub had a beer festival on and the ales were in great form.
Stopped off at Towcester Mill on the way home for some more great ales.

We hope you have enjoyed our Summer Ale Trail around the beautiful pubs of Northamptonshire.
The Trail ends on Monday 31st. August, so if you want to be in the draw for a case of ale, your card must have at least 20pts and handed in on or before that date.
Cards can be handed in at the Midland Band Club in Kettering, or the Albion Brewery Bar in Northampton.

The Star & Garter in Chelveston have asked us to publicise the fact that they are open for great food and great local ales.
The reason for the shout out is because they are losing footfall due to some extensive on going roadworks and want everybody to know that they are still open and operating.

Today we presented Guy at Great Oakley Brewery his award for Nuggernaught (4% session golden ale), being judged best in its style.
It went on to be judged the 3rd best ale of the Festival overall.
