A community centre based in Adamsdown, Cardiff. Serving the local community, including asylum seekers, refugees and others in need.

We welcome people of all faiths and none. A project of the Cardiff Methodist Circuit. The Methodist Church in Great Britain was founded in the 18th Century and formally constituted by the Methodist Church Union Act 1929. Local Churches are organised into Circuits and Districts - in this case the Cardiff Circuit and Wales District. Trinity Methodist Church premises in Newport Road Cardiff date from

the late 19th Century. For the past 5 years they have provided a home for voluntary organisations working with refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities. These organisations are not run by the Church but work in partnership with it to provide support for people of all faiths or none. The building is ideally located which, with the active support of the Methodist Church, has led to the co-location of several different groups. Their mutual cooperation has strengthened the overall service being provided from this centre. The main groups presently supporting refugees and asylum seekers are:

- Space4U (S4U) operates a drop-in offering information and support, English lessons, food/clothing bank, craft sessions as well as food and drinks.

- Parent & Toddler groups linked to S4U are held twice a week.

- Home4U works closely with S4U providing temporary accommodation using empty properties which have been loaned to the project.

- Communities First offering craft classes and ESOL lessons.

HAPPY REFUGEE WEEK!

As a community centre we welcome all, whatever your background or where you’ve come from. This week we’re celebrating refugee week 😊 and are always welcoming to refugees and sanctuary seekers.

This week has been all about learning and educating - we’ve worked with 4 classes from 3 local Primary Schools to share our values, educate children about the truths and myths around seeking sanctuary in the UK and in learning about what Courage means to them.

We always have been, and always will be welcome to refugees and sanctuary seekers. Happy Refugee Week everyone ❤️

Volunteers’ Week Spotlight: Meet Kirshelle

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who make Trinity Centre such a welcoming and vibrant community.

Kirshelle volunteers with us as both an Event Volunteer and a Sisterhood Café Volunteer. Here’s what volunteering at Trinity Centre means to her:

“My volunteering role at Trinity Centre is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to help others while giving back to my local community and to be part of something bigger than myself. I enjoy meeting new people, learning from different experiences, and contributing to a positive environment. It has helped me become more productive by engaging with others while creating a diverse and safe space. It has also helped me grow both personally and professionally and I take pride in knowing that I am making a difference, no matter how small.”

What a lovely morning!

Today we hosted a Volunteer Thank You Brunch to celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy and kindness to Trinity Centre.

Since April 2025, our 14 volunteers have contributed an amazing 355 hours of support, helping us create a welcoming space for our community. It was wonderful to have 12 of them together today to say a huge thank you for everything they do.

Our theme for the brunch was “Thank You for Helping Us Grow” and each volunteer planted a pot to take home as a small token of our appreciation.

A huge thank you also goes to Pettigrew Bakery and Maasi Food for their generous donations towards today’s brunch. The food was absolutely delicious and helped make the celebration extra special.

We couldn’t do what we do without our wonderful volunteers. Thank you for helping Trinity Centre grow.

With your support, we’ve been able to provide 27 packs of essential toiletries to asylum seekers and refugees in our community this month.

These packs contain everyday essentials that many people are going without, and they make a real difference to the wellbeing and dignity of those we support.

We’re also so grateful to The Hygiene Bank for helping us keep this vital support going.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shares and supports the Toiletries Bank, community kindness really does matter.

We’re so pleased to share some great news… ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Trinity Centre has officially received a 5-star food hygiene rating following our inspection last week and the sticker arrived today!

This rating reflects the care, time and attention that goes into everything we do, from preparing food safely to creating a welcoming space for everyone who comes through our doors.

A huge thank you to our incredible team and volunteers who make this possible every day.

Whether you’re joining us for a Welcome Table lunch, Sisterhood café, an event, or a community session, you can feel confident you’re in safe hands.
