Share your experience of what happens when young people turn 18. Cardiff University’s CASCADE team wants to hear from you about When I Am Ready — whether you’ve taken part, are thinking about it, chose not to or couldn’t, or have never heard of it.

Very soon, we'll be heading out to deliver our Warm Home Boxes to care experienced young people.
A warm, safe, and secure home is not a privilege, it's a right. As corporate parents, we all have a responsibility to ensure that the needs of care experienced children and young people are met, and that they have the support, opportunities, and stability they deserve.
We're incredibly grateful to all the Local Authorities for welcoming us and supporting this important initiative. We can't wait to visit, connect with young people, and help make a positive difference together.

🏠 FREE WARM HOME BOXES – APPLY NOW! 🏠

Are you care experienced, aged 17–21, and living independently or getting ready to live independently?

As part of the final stage of our Getting Ready Programme, Voices from Care Cymru is offering eligible young people the opportunity to receive a FREE Warm Home Box – containing around £160 worth of practical items! 💚

Each box includes items to help make your home warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient, including thermal curtains & poles, a weighted blanket, draught excluders, window seals, radiator insulation sheets, a radiator key and practical energy-saving information.

✅ Completely FREE
📦 Delivery or collection from the VFCC office available
⚠️ Limited number of boxes available

Following on from our first housing session, we're back with Session 2 of our Housing & Independent Living Programme.

This time we're looking at Managing Housing Challenges & what to do when things aren't going quite right with your home or tenancy.

We’ll be covering:

⚠️ Spotting housing problems before they become a crisis
💷 What to do if you're struggling with rent or bills
🏚️ Understanding homelessness prevention
📩 What to do if you receive a warning or important housing letter
🗣️ How to speak up and get the right support
🏠 Knowing your housing rights and where to go for help
💬 Real-life housing scenarios and group activities

You'll also get your own Housing Action Plan and useful housing resources and contacts to take away.

🍪 Snacks and refreshments provided!

Whether you're already living independently or preparing for your first home, come along, have a chat and pick up some useful information.
