Pilot Jamie pending… 🧑‍✈️

We’re excited to bring you an update of one of our grantees Jamie, who’s been training to become a pilot, thanks to a grant he received from the Education Trust of John Vaughan Fund.

In the previous update we’d received from Jamie, he talked about preparing for his flight from Haverfordwest to Cardiff and back again – upon passing this and an exam, he would receive his Private Pilot’s License 📝

This past week we were delighted to find out Jamie has now achieved his Private Pilot’s License! ✈️

His next steps will be to complete his Commercial License exams, alongside working at McDonald’s which will continue to fund his journey.

Congratulations Jamie – we’re all proud of you and excited to see what you can achieve in the future 👏

Peilot Jamie… bron yno! 🧑‍✈️

Rydym yn falch iawn o rannu diweddariad am un o'n derbynwyr grantiau, Jamie, sydd wedi bod yn hyfforddi i fod yn beilot diolch i grant a gafodd gan Gronfa Ymddiriedolaeth Addysg John Vaughan.

Yn y diweddariad diwethaf a gawsom gan Jamie, soniodd am baratoi ar gyfer ei daith hedfan o Hwlffordd i Gaerdydd ac yn ôl. Ar ôl llwyddo yn yr hediad hwnnw ac mewn arholiad, byddai'n ennill ei Drwydded Beilot Preifat 📝

Yr wythnos ddiwethaf, roeddem wrth ein bodd clywed bod Jamie bellach wedi ennill ei Drwydded Beilot Preifat! ✈️

Ei gam nesaf fydd cwblhau arholiadau ei Drwydded Beilot Fasnachol, ochr yn ochr â pharhau i weithio yn McDonald's i ariannu ei daith.

Llongyfarchiadau, Jamie – rydym yn falch iawn ohonot ac yn edrych ymlaen at weld beth fyddi di'n ei gyflawni yn y dyfodol 👏

Yesterday was National Day for Play, so we wanted to celebrate all the groups we’re fortunate to support, who work within their communities to provide play opportunities for children 🧸

Supporting these groups is really important to us and we’re thankful for the donors who work with us to make a difference to children’s lives. Supporting young people today, is supporting Wales's future, and investing in its future leaders, innovators and changemakers 🫶

In particular, we wanted to look at Llambed Development Trust who received a large grant from the Ashley Family Foundation to develop their Community Art Café. We loved reading their recent monitoring report, showcasing the brilliant activities they’ve been able to provide for young people free of charge 👏

These opportunities for play have included painting, sewing, baking, needle felting, sculpture making, creative writing and paper crafts! They’ve supported a variety of ages, creating a safe and inclusive environment and fostering both wellbeing and a sense of community 🎨

For many of these children, it could be the only opportunity they get to access hobbies and activities like this, due to their disadvantaged backgrounds and the high costs of taking part, without funding like this 🛝

We’re really grateful to everyone who helps run the Community Art Café and make it the safe haven it is for so many – you’re really changing the lives of young people in Wales ❤️

Ddoe oedd Diwrnod Cenedlaethol Chwarae, felly rydym eisiau dathlu’r holl grwpiau rydym yn ffodus o’u cefnogi, sy’n gweithio yn eu cymunedau i ddarparu cyfleoedd chwarae i blant 🧸

Mae cefnogi’r grwpiau hyn yn hollbwysig i ni, ac rydym yn ddiolchgar i’r rhoddwyr sy’n gweithio gyda ni i wneud gwahaniaeth i fywydau plant. Mae cefnogi pobl ifanc heddiw yn golygu buddsoddi yn nyfodol Cymru ac yn y genhedlaeth nesaf o arweinwyr, arloeswyr ac ysgogwyr newid 🫶

Yn benodol, roeddem am dynnu sylw at Ymddiriedolaeth Datblygu Llambed, a dderbyniodd grant sylweddol gan Ashley Family Foundation i ddatblygu eu Caffi Celf Cymunedol. Roedd yn bleser darllen eu hadroddiad monitro diweddar, oedd yn dangos y gweithgareddau gwych y maent wedi gallu eu cynnig yn rhad ac am ddim i bobl ifanc 👏

Mae’r cyfleoedd chwarae hyn wedi cynnwys paentio, gwnïo, pobi, ffeltio â nodwydd, gwneud cerfluniau, ysgrifennu creadigol a chrefftau papur! Maent wedi cefnogi plant a phobl ifanc o wahanol oedrannau, gan greu amgylchedd diogel a chynhwysol sy’n meithrin llesiant ac ymdeimlad o gymuned 🎨

I lawer o’r plant hyn, efallai mai dyma’r unig gyfle sydd ganddynt i gymryd rhan mewn hobïau a gweithgareddau fel hyn, oherwydd eu hamgylchiadau difreintiedig a chost uchel cymryd rhan, heb gyllid fel hwn 🛝

Rydym yn hynod ddiolchgar i bawb sy’n helpu i redeg y Caffi Celf Cymunedol ac yn ei wneud yn hafan ddiogel i gynifer o bobl – rydych wir yn newid bywydau pobl ifanc ledled Cymru ❤️

Want to make a difference to your community, but you’re not sure where to start? We have the perfect opportunity for you to ensure that your voice is heard! 💬

We’re a proud member of UK Community Foundations (UKCF), a movement of 47 accredited and independent community foundations. We’re therefore pleased to share this survey, which explores people’s perceptions and experiences of community cohesion across the UK 🤝

Featuring across BBC Breakfast, the Mirror, the Sun, the Guardian, and other major outlets, thousands of people have already spoken about their vision for the future – but we need your help! 🚨

We’re pleased this conversation is happening across the whole of the UK, and we’d love as many people as possible in Wales to complete the survey so Welsh voices and experiences are represented.

It only takes a few minutes to complete and is an opportunity to share your views on the place you live and your sense of community 👇

Ydych chi eisiau gwneud gwahaniaeth i'ch cymuned, ond ddim yn siŵr ble i ddechrau? Mae gennym y cyfle perffaith i sicrhau eich bod yn cael dweud eich dweud! 💬

Rydym yn falch o fod yn aelod o UK Community Foundations (UKCF), mudiad o 47 o sefydliadau cymunedol annibynnol gydag achrededig. Rydym felly’n falch o rannu'r arolwg hwn, sy'n archwilio canfyddiadau a phrofiadau pobl o gydlyniant cymunedol ledled y DU 🤝

Mae’r arolwg wedi derbyn sylw ar BBC Breakfast, y Mirror, y Sun, y Guardian a sawl cyfrwng arall, ac mae miloedd o bobl eisoes wedi rhannu eu gweledigaeth ar gyfer y dyfodol – ond rydym angen eich cymorth! 🚨

Mae’n wych bod y sgwrs hon yn digwydd ar draws y DU gyfan, a byddem wrth ein bodd pe bai pobl yng Nghymru yn cwblhau'r arolwg, er mwyn sicrhau bod lleisiau a phrofiadau Cymru yn cael eu cynrychioli.

Dim ond ychydig funudau y mae'n ei gymryd i'w gwblhau, ac mae'n gyfle i rannu eich barn am y lle rydych yn byw a'ch ymdeimlad o gymuned 👇
