The Bumrun is a charity organization founded by Dr. Ian Bookman, a gastroenterologist in Toronto, with the goal of raising awareness about colorectal cancer screening in order to prevent the 90% of cancer deaths which still needlessly occur. Our Mission

To increase awareness of how common colorectal cancer is today. To increase participation in screening programs to prevent colorectal cancer. To raise funds for charities that have a record in saving lives through promoting easy access to screening.

Screening recommendations and eligibility vary across Canada based on where you live, your age and your individual risk. Your family history matters, too—some people should begin screening earlier.

So as we pack away the summer gear, here’s your friendly reminder to know your risk, check the screening guidelines where you live, and take care of your bum. 💙
