and benefit from our programs, bringing about change for all children. We empower communities by training and building local capacity, helping them continue their development after we leave.

Right now, 520 million children are living in conflict zones. 251 million are out of school. 4.9 million under-fives die every year from preventable causes.

This isn't inevitable — we can change it together.

This year, Save the Children is working across 45 countries to reach 10.1 million children with healthcare, education, protection, and food. With a global network of 20,000+ staff and 2,100 partners, we're not just responding to crises — we're working to make communities resilient enough to withstand the next one.

Together, we can make sure these children get the brighter, safer futures they deserve. Donate now: https://social.savethechildren.ca/4uOBwwn

It's now three years since children in Gaza have gone without school.

Our colleague in Gaza shows us what education looks like in a war zone — 30 temporary learning spaces, 44 early childhood centres, where children aren't just learning, but being taught how to survive. Unexploded ordnances. Family separation. Active shooting.

Because education saves lives.
We're also distributing thousands of educational kits to children across Gaza. These kids haven't given up — please don't give up on them.

"Inside my heart, I feel such a great joy."
When war broke out in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Annuarite was separated from her family.

Her parents searched everywhere — up and down every path, desperate to find her.

Thanks to Save the Children and its partners, she was found. And a family was whole again.

On this , Annuarite's story reminds us of what matters most — and why we never stop searching.

🚨22 children have been killed and 89 injured since the temporary "ceasefire" in started on 17 April.

🗣️ A ceasefire where children are killed or injured every day is not a ceasefire.

Attacks on civilians have not stopped. It has simply continued under another name.

Save the Children is calling on the international community to urgently work toward a permanent and definitive ceasefire and ensure flexible and sustained funding to protect children and allow families to return home to resume their lives.

This weekend, many of us celebrated Mother’s Day with flowers, phone calls and cards. But not every Mother’s Day looks the same.

Save the Children spokesperson and mother living in , Shurouq, spoke with Global News’ Jazan Grewal about the daily challenges she faces while raising her daughter through years of war.

“She’s not asking about explosions, she’s asking about her father. She’s wondering all the time when he’s getting back from heaven, staring at the skies.”

As families across Gaza continue to endure unbearable conditions, mothers are doing everything they can to protect their children, preserve childhood and hold onto hope.

When Jasmine went into labour early in Nairobi, she gave birth to twins — Bravin at 1.6kg, and Hadassa at 2.4kg. Bravin was placed in an incubator, struggling to breathe, losing weight every day. The doctors had done what they could. The next step was hers.

So Jasmine held him. Skin to skin, tied to her chest, around the clock. Kangaroo Mother Care, a simple, proven intervention — and a mother who refused to let go. To is to give, even when the odds are against you.

This Mother's Day, honour the caregivers in your life with a gift that supports mothers and babies who need it most: https://social.savethechildren.ca/42jeG2Y

Samah* is a mother of four. Her youngest, baby Sameer, was six months old when we met them in . She was one of an estimated 50,000 women who gave birth during the conflict. With her husband out of work and her family dependent on aid, feeding her children became an impossible daily weight.

"Imagine a child asking you for bread, and you can't provide that. As a parent, as a mother, it destroyed me."

Through Save the Children's nutrition program, Samah received support, a safe space, and a Baby Kit with essential hygiene products for Sameer — because no mother should face that alone.

This Mother's Day, . Your donation helps us reach families like Samah's with the nutrition, care, and dignity they deserve: https://social.savethechildren.ca/42jeG2Y

Plagues of rats, mice and insects have swarmed displacement camps across in recent weeks. With temperatures rising, health risks have escalated for 1.4 million people living in these camps, including 680,000 children.

The Israeli military blockade of aid and commercial goods has left families unable to access pesticides to control the infestation.

Save the Children is providing water, sanitation and hygiene services to communities, but we need uninterrupted humanitarian access to continue our work.

Israel must:
▶️ Lift the siege
▶️ Ensure all border crossings are open and fully operational
▶️ Lift aid restrictions
