October is Disability Employment Awareness Month in Canada, a topic that hit close to home for us and is central to the work we do every day.

Neurodiverse employees contribute a wide range of strengths, fresh perspectives, and talents that enrich workplaces. Many have the skills employers are looking for, but face barriers like unclear recruitment processes and workplaces that weren’t necessarily built with neurodiversity in mind.

At Geneva Centre for Autism, we're committed to inclusive employment, starting with our own hiring and workplace practices. Through our Autism Workforce Development Hub, we also offer:

-One-on-one employment consultation and groups for autistic youth (13+) and adults
-Training, on-site consultations, and wage subsidy information for employers building neuroinclusive teams

Meet the panelists:

Robbie Tanco (he/him) is a 23-year-old autistic singer-songwriter from Vaughan with perfect pitch and a new single.

Rick Peckham (he/him) is an MC and public speaker who trained at Second City and is a former client of GCA. This time he's asking the questions instead of hosting.

Roshanak (she/her) is a Toronto singer-songwriter whose music focuses on her journey with autism.

We were happy to be part of the TOgather Conference 2026 on September 25. It was a day dedicated to exploring emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in philanthropy.

This year’s theme, The Ethical Lens – Seeing Things Differently, couldn’t have been a better fit for the conversation Char Zozzolotto, Employment Consultant, and Taryn Persaud, Community & Employment Options Facilitator, brought to the table.

Their session, The Neuro Workflow: When Neuroinclusion, AI & the Workforce Unite, offered a practical and thoughtful look at neuroinclusion in the workplace: what it is, what it isn’t, and why it matters for organizations building more innovative, inclusive, and effective teams.

Every autistic person deserves the chance to thrive, and that's why we golf. ⛳

Our 27th Annual Golf Classic, presented by BMO, raised more than $200,000, bringing our total to over $2 million in 27 years. That money goes towards life-changing programs and services that help clients build skills, gain confidence, and take part in their communities.

150 golfers and 28 sponsors made it happen.

Behind the scenes, 13 clients helped prep the event and 7 were employed on the course, showing what community inclusion looks like.

From organizing materials to supporting event prep, this hands-on work built real vocational skills while contributing to an amazing tournament.

Back by popular demand: our free in-person support group for kids ages 6–9 who have a sibling with autism.

Thursday, October 15 | 5:00–6:30pm
164 Merton Street | FREE

Through board games, crafts and age-appropriate activities, siblings will:
-Connect with other kids with similar experiences
-Learn about autism in a way that makes sense for their age
-Share their thoughts and feelings
-Build coping and regulation skills

Caregivers are welcome to stay in a separate space with resources and time to connect with other families.
