Meet Our Fab Five: Dwayne
Dwayne’s journey is a powerful example of resilience, determination, and personal growth.
Since Grade 9, he has worked diligently to overcome challenges that impacted his early high school experience. Through perseverance and a strong commitment to his goals, he has achieved significant academic success and earned Honour Roll status.
This fall, Dwayne will attend Humber College, where he plans to pursue the Social Service Worker program.
His dedication to helping others, combined with the remarkable growth he has demonstrated throughout his high school years, makes him an exceptional young leader with a bright future ahead.
We are proud to recognize Dwayne as one of our 2025 Fab Five recipients and look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the years ahead.

This fall, she plans to pursue post-secondary studies in the medical field, where she hopes to combine her passion for helping others with her academic strengths.
What sets Newness apart is her resilience, leadership, determination, and ability to balance multiple responsibilities while remaining focused on her goals.
She is committed to giving back to her community and making a positive impact on the lives of others, both through her future career and her dedication to helping those around her.

After experiencing a family breakdown that led to her becoming her own guardian, Florence remained focused on her education and continued to excel academically despite the challenges she faced.
This fall, she will begin university studies in psychology and health-related fields, taking the next step toward a bright future.
Her perseverance, independence, and determination to overcome adversity while staying committed to her goals truly set her apart.

Meet Our Fab Five: Aiyana
Aiyana is a Grade 12 honours student at West Hill Collegiate who has been accepted into York University’s Biomedical Science program.
She will be the first person in her family to attend post-secondary school, an incredible milestone and achievement.
Aiyana’s goal is to attend medical school and become a pediatrician, helping children and families in her community.
We are proud to recognize Aiyana as one of our 2025 Fab Five recipients and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes in the years ahead.
