It has been a tough year, hasn’t it?
For far too long, our community has been under attack. We have endured moments of fear, heartbreak, anger, and uncertainty. Too often, we have found ourselves asking, “How did we get here?” and “How could this happen again?”
But if history has taught us anything, it is this:
The Jewish people endure.
For thousands of years, we have faced persecution, hatred, violence, and those who sought to see us disappear. Yet here we are.
Still here. Still standing. Still building. Still believing.
The people who tried to destroy us have become chapters in history. The Jewish people continue to write our story.
And we will not allow hatred to define us.
We will continue to bring light into the world.
We will continue to do mitzvot.
We will continue to practice kindness and compassion.
We will continue our sacred work of Tikkun Olam.
We will continue to stand with Israel.
And we will continue to be loud, proud, and unapologetically Jewish.
Because our response to darkness has never been to become darker.
Our response is to bring more light.
As we enter a new year, may it bring us what we need most: happiness, joy, love, family, peace, strength, and hope.
May our homes be filled with laughter.
May our families be surrounded by love.
May our communities grow stronger.
And may this be a sweet, sweet year, one filled with blessings, courage, and renewed faith in a brighter tomorrow.
