The Rosary's Victory! Reconquest is not over.

The Catholic Reconquista recovered cities and kingdoms, but the greater battle is the reconquest of souls for Jesus Christ.

From the Christian restoration of Iberia to the fall of Granada, and later to the victory at Lepanto, the Rosary became deeply woven into the Catholic response to threats against the Faith.

And at Fatima, Our Lady gave the world the same weapon:

“Pray the Rosary every day.”

Today, the battle continues, for souls, and the restoration of Christ’s reign in society.

The Fatima Center at the Catholic Identity Conference

Over the weekend of October 2-4, team members from The Fatima Center returned to the Catholic Identity Conference (CIC), hosted by The Remnant in Pittsburgh. Approximately 500 priests, religious, and lay people attended, many of whom were attending this annual event for the first time.

It is always a great privilege to speak about Our Lady of Fatima, and we were grateful for the opportunity to present those stopping by our table with the only solution for our times.

The Rosary: A Weapon of Victory

"Peace came through strength... as the power of the Rosary propelled the battle-ready Catholic forces to a decisive and historic victory."

The historic victory at Lepanto proved to a dispirited world that the Church’s enemies are not insuperable when Catholics invoke the Queen of Heaven.

As we look at the chaos of our modern world, Part II of our Lepanto series that our ultimate hope does not lie in worldly diplomacy or secular institutions. It lies in the same weapon used in 1571.

Just as Our Lady of the Rosary granted victory at Lepanto, she promises an even more momentous triumph through obedience to Her Fatima requests.

THE ROSARY VICTORY

“Our fleet has won a great victory!”

On October 7, 1571, Pope St. Pius V suddenly rose during a meeting with his Cardinals and declared:
“This is not the moment for business; make haste to thank God, because our fleet at this moment has won a great victory against the Turks.”

But the news of the Battle of Lepanto would not reach Rome for another two weeks.
How did the Pope know?

St. Pius V had called Catholics throughout Europe to pray the Rosary for victory. The Christian soldiers fasted, went to Confession, attended Holy Mass, and carried Rosaries into battle. Against the mighty Ottoman fleet, the Holy League fought, and won.

The victory of Lepanto became one of the great historical testimonies to the power of Our Lady of the Rosary.
And October 7 became the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Queen of the Holy Rosary!

On October 7, the Church celebrates Our Lady of the Rosary, a feast forever associated with one of the most remarkable victories attributed to the power of the Holy Rosary: the Battle of Lepanto in 1571.

When Christian Europe faced a grave threat, Pope St. Pius V called the faithful to pray the Rosary. The victory that followed became a lasting testimony to the power of Our Lady’s intercession.

At Fatima, Our Lady came asking for the same thing: “Pray the Rosary every day.”

Today, on Her feast, let us renew that request.
