Adrian from GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team was returning from Cowansville, Quebec after completing training with a new response vehicle known as The Fat Truck.

The amphibious FAT TRUCK Zeal Motor will become an important addition to the GlobalMedic’s emergency response operations. Designed to handle extreme conditions, this vehicle can travel through deep snow, rough terrain, and even water, allowing responders to reach people who are stranded during floods, snowstorms, or other natural disasters.

The unit can transport up to six people safely with built-in seating and seatbelts, making it possible to evacuate individuals from isolated homes or areas that normal vehicles cannot get to. It can also deliver critical supplies such as food and emergency resources to residents sheltering in place.

In Blue Ridge, GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team continued distributing fire skids to rural municipalities supporting wildfire operations near Whitecourt.

This particular unit was handed over to Fort Assiniboine, a community of approximately 200 residents served by a volunteer fire force of 20 members.

The fire skid adds critical equipment capacity for the department, allowing firefighters to access smaller roads, remote terrain, and active fire zones more quickly using pickup trucks and trailers where larger apparatus may struggle to operate.

As crews continue assisting with the wildfire response in the Whitecourt area, equipment like this helps strengthen frontline operations and improve rapid response capability for rural communities.

GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team was in İzmir, Türkiye, following a devastating wildfire season that impacted large areas of the region.

The team was on the ground to support the rollout of a Fire Skid program designed to strengthen local wildfire response. These units can transform pickup trucks into mobile firefighting vehicles, allowing crews to access remote or hard-to-reach areas where traditional fire trucks cannot operate.

Each fire skid includes a 1,000-liter water tank mounted on a platform, along with a pump, engine, and fire hose — creating a compact, self-contained firefighting system.

By introducing these units, GlobalMedic is helping improve rapid response capabilities in wildfire-prone areas, ensuring teams can act quickly and more effectively to contain fires and protect communities.

A huge thank you to our partners at Airlink for helping make this Afghanistan deployment possible.

Following a recent earthquake, thousands of families have been left without stable shelter and reliable access to clean drinking water. In response, GlobalMedic is shipping 24 skids of Family Emergency Kits that can support more than 1,000 households. You can see the pallets being loaded and prepared for transport to Pearson Airport, where they will move via donated air cargo coordinated by Airlink.

From there, the shipment will transit through the Middle East before landing in Afghanistan. Our partners at the Bayat Foundation will then clear the cargo and oversee distribution into affected communities within the earthquake zone.

Each kit includes a point-of-use water purification solution, a hygiene kit, and a solar light — practical tools designed to protect health and restore stability in difficult conditions.

Igor Logvinov, founder of the Freedom Trust charity and a doctor at Chernivtsi National University, spoke from Novoselytsya, Ukraine, where Family Emergency Kits were being received and prepared for distribution.

Over the past four years, Freedom Trust has been supporting families displaced from eastern and southern Ukraine. With ongoing disruptions to electricity and water systems caused by the conflict, access to clean drinking water has become a critical need.

Through GlobalMedic’s support, these kits provide a reliable way for families to access safe drinking water in areas where traditional systems are no longer functioning.

At GlobalMedic, volunteers play a central role in turning large-scale donations into usable aid for communities.

In this case, a donor provided over 80 pallets of retail products — including items like hand lotions, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, originally packaged in large display cases. To make these items accessible, volunteers dismantled the bulk packaging and sorted the products into smaller, manageable quantities.

These items were then organized and listed on GlobalMedic’s online distribution platform, where charities across the city and country can request what they need. Once selected, the products are picked up and distributed directly to families, helping ensure basic hygiene products reach those who need them most.

By repackaging and redistributing these donations, volunteers are helping maximize impact — increasing access to everyday essentials for communities across Canada.

Our Vertical Farm is incredibly efficient — we harvest our microgreens every seven days. We partner with organizations like Gore Park Community Outreach to make sure that our microgreens reach families in need at peak freshness.

For the last three years, Gore Park Community Outreach has been one of our regular microgreens distribution partners. Gore Park has received and distributed to their clients a grand total of 12,442 packs of microgreens, or 3,169lbs of fresh, healthy produce.

In Carling Township, a small volunteer fire department serves a community of around 1,500 residents, where access and terrain can make emergency response more complex during extreme weather conditions.

Working alongside the local fire department, GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team deployed our amphibious, all-terrain rescue vehicle the FAT TRUCK Zeal Motor to strengthen response preparedness.

Manufactured in Quebec, this off-road vehicle can navigate deep snow, mud, steep terrain, and water, while performing precise maneuvers in tight or difficult spaces.

These capabilities allow teams to reach individuals who may be trapped or inaccessible during severe weather events, improving response time and access in critical situations.

GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team handed over a new fire skid unit to the Fort Assiniboine Fire Department to support ongoing wildfire response near Whitecourt, Alberta.

Serving a community of approximately 200 residents with a volunteer fire force of 22 members, the department will use the skid to strengthen response efforts in remote and hard-to-access areas.

The unit carries a 1,000-litre water tank with a pump and hose system that can be mounted onto the back of a pickup truck, transforming it into a mobile fire truck capable of reaching areas larger apparatus cannot easily access.

As wildfire season continues across Alberta, equipment like this helps local departments respond faster and operate more effectively on the front lines.
