We never know exactly who is going to make their way down the stairs to our food bank with gifts in hand, but we always know they are going to make our day.
Here are some local supporters who made us smile recently with their kindness and community spirit.
1. Waupoos cottagers Diane and Colin Brown have become some of our most generous donors, regularly checking in with us for most needed items and then appearing hours later with a full truckload of food. Here they are with their latest donation of cases of peanut butter, cereal, pasta sauce and much more.
2. Six-year-old Malcolm (shown on right with brother Jack on left), decided to make some money with a neighbourhood bake sale and, with a little help from mom, Brittany, chose to donate half of the proceeds – $60 – to the Picton Food Bank.
3. Joan and Jason Clarke, with help from friends and neighbours, have been helping food bank clients celebrate warm weather with a steady supply of fresh rhubard and other needed pantry items.
4. Blair Wellbanks hosted a dance party at Picton United Church last month and collected over 100lbs of food and cash from attendees for the food bank. Thanks Blair!!
