PEC Jazz Festival - Second Chance - Ticket Giveaway!!

For the second time our good friend 99.3 County FM is giving away a pair of tickets to PEC Jazz Festival's kick off event - "Swing Into Spring" during Gabriella Poisson's "Morning Drive" show on April 15th between 8-10am.

"Swing Into Spring" is a dance, and a show and...the launch for this year's PEC Jazz Festival with the announcement of the full Festival line up. PEC Jazz Fest - Announcing The Paul Pandos Bursary

The Paul Pandos Bursary was established in 2026 through a gift from the Family and Friends of Paul Pandos. Paul Pandos was a life-long lover of jazz and a long-time friend and fan of the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival.

The Paul Pandos Bursary of $1,000 will be offered annually to a student enrolling in a post-secondary or post-graduate music program.

The bursary is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Preference will be given to students from Prince Edward County, the Bay of Quinte region and the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2026.

Our friends the Shuffle Demons …

One more sleep til The JUNO Awards Gala party in Hamilton! So excited to be part of the festivities this year. Shout out to Peter Cardinali at Alma Records for taking us into the fold and helping make this album a reality. We recorded with Julian Decourt Canterbury Music Company, Jono Grant used his expertise in production, editing, mixing and mastering and Don Breithaupt came up with an excellent cover. We couldn't have done any of it without the generous support of Ontario Arts Council - Conseil des arts de l'Ontario and Toronto Arts Council! Thanks to all who helped and Stich Wynston, Mike Downes Music, Matt Lagan, Kelly Jefferson and Richard Underhill for writing great tunes and playing like Demons!!

PEC Jazz Festival - Festival alum on Tour!

Always great to see that even when our Festival is not on, past Jazz Festival favourites, are still out there doing their thing with their own tours and bands!

Denielle Bassels brings her trio to St. John’s Hall at the Church of the Ascension in Port Perry. Fresh off her return from France, Bassels is joined by Henry Heilig on bass and Jay Yoo on guitar, This concert also marks a first: the remarkable Bill McBirnie will be playing Bassels’ music on flute.

Denielle's originals are rooted in jazz, folk and blues - delivered with presence, precision and a touch of mischief. No excess. Just strong writing, dynamic interplay and a room where the music can land properly.

PEC Jazz Festival - 25 Years of Jazz Excellence!

The Winter of 25/26 - the house guest that never leaves! But wait - you can still beat the blues, with some great local live music!!

PEC Jazz Festival - 25 Years of Jazz Excellence!

We here at the PEC Jazz Festival were saddened to hear of the death of the critically acclaimed jazz clarinetist and tenor saxophonist, Ken Peplowski, February 2.

Known for what Alex Williams of the NY Times described as "his warm, woody tone and fluency on a finicky instrument" Peplowski made over seventy albums as a leader and close to 400 releases as a sideman in his career; and was an influential curator of jazz festivals including the Sarasota Jazz Festival and The Jazz Cruise.
