🇨🇦Canada Day Safety🇨🇦
Each year, thousands of Canadians, mostly children, are injured by consumer fireworks like sparklers and firecrackers.

Fireworks also cause numerous fires.

Stay safe this Canada Day by following these essential guidelines:

✅ Buy Smart: Only purchase fireworks from trusted sources and follow all manufacturers instructions.

✅ Keep fireworks away from homes, trees, dry grass and flammable materials.

✅ Secure fireworks in soil or sand for a stable firing base.

✅ Allow sparklers to cool completely in a safe area away from children.

🚫 Never use sparklers indoors, they stay hot and can ignite clothing or other materials.

🚫 Never point fireworks at people.

🚫 Never throw or hold fireworks in your hand.

🚫 Never Re- Light Duds: Wait several minutes, then soak them in water.

🔥 Keep a hose and bucket of water nearby to extinguish smouldering fireworks.

🔥 Light with Care: Use a long reach lighter, stand back, and turn your face away.

📞 If someone is burned or injured, call 911 immediately.
