🥳 366 PECI students just added brand new books to their home libraries during our June 2026 round of Book Room visits!

🙌 Thank you to all of our volunteers who welcomed 16 classes over 34 volunteer shifts, and all of the teachers and parent chaperones, for making the unique experience possible!

✨At County Kids Read, the sound of children discovering, discussing, and digging into their brand new books is music to our ears. It is our team's honour to share special book moments with hundreds of County kids each year - through our school visit program and beyond!

🤩 What a delightful morning we had with the Athol-South Marysburgh PS community this week! Our team enjoyed both sharing and receiving book recommendations, and experiencing the excitement as students from K-8 clutched their new "just right" book. A summer of reading awaits!

📣 We are excited to be kicking off summer event season at the Bloomfield Hallowell Recreation Committee's Old Fashioned BBQ Picnic this Saturday! We invite families to visit our friendly volunteers to find a FREE book to take home and read on those lazy summer days.

✨ Come see us from 11-2, weather permitting, at the Mill Pond Park (17 Brick Street, Bloomfield).

Today we are extending our sincere gratitude to the Picton Kinettes for their recent contribution to County Kids Read. They kindly donated the $500 in bake sale proceeds from their Loonie Auction event!

📣 Sophiasburgh CS students - we can't wait to see and read with you tomorrow!

❔Did you know? 3 times every school year, our volunteers bring the County Kids Read experience on the road. Our Sophiasburgh team has been visiting for over 10 years! Check out these photos from our most recent visit in March. We carefully select and bring a whole bunch of books, lead storytimes and book talks, and help every kiddo find their "just right" book.
