For many, working at a restaurant, cafe or bar is their first job and with that comes an opportunity to learn an important and diverse skill set including:

- Time management when you have multiple orders on the go
- Problem solving when the POS goes down or a customer has a complaint-
- Navigating stress and a fast-paced workplace
- Maximizing interpersonal skills with all the people you meet
- Understanding food, drink and where they come from
- Keeping a space clean and sanitary
