In uncertain times, financial security matters more than ever. Yet for many women across our region, lasting financial security remains out of reach.

Despite working incredibly hard to provide for their families, millions of women face low and unstable incomes, unfair lending practices, and little protection when unexpected challenges arise.
When women are financially resilient, the impact reaches far beyond the individual - strengthening families, supporting communities, and creating more secure futures for generations to come.

Hear from Shane Nichols, Good Return CEO, on what financial security means to him.

Financially secure women build secure futures. Donate to our end of financial year appeal today, and every donation made before 30 June will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.

FINANCIALLY SECURE WOMEN BUILD SECURE FUTURES

Kusumi is from central Nepal and lives with nine family members. She works in a soap factory and recently completed Good Return’s Consumer Awareness and Financial Capability (CAFE) coaching program, delivered in partnership with Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI). CAFE is an innovative financial education program giving women the financial skills to take control of their money, and plan for good times and bad.

Kusumi shared, “After completing the training, I am keeping records of my income and expenses each week, and I now have the habit of saving for my future.”

At Good Return, we know that when women build financial resilience, the impact extends far beyond one person - strengthening families, supporting communities, and creating more secure futures. That’s the power of the CAFE program.

This end of financial year, your donation can help more women gain the skills, tools and confidence to build financial independence and create lasting opportunities for the future, and all donations received before 30 June will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.

Donate before June 30: https://goodreturn.org.au/donation-form

This Reconciliation Week, we celebrate the incredible women entrepreneurs of the Maganda Makers Business Club in the Kimberley region.

Meet Savannah, a Digital Creator and business owner who attended the Lombadina Camp, where Indigenous businesswomen came together to connect, share ideas, dreams and experiences, and uplift one another at every stage of their business journey.

In this video, Savannah shares how the camp created a safe and empowering space for her to grow, work on ways to strengthen her business, and expand the services she provides to her community.

Maganda Makers was developed through a collaboration between Kimberley Birds, Good Return and Menzies Foundation.

ANOTHER STORY OF CHANGE FROM THE PHILIPPINES

Together with our local partner APPEND, Good Return is delivering a wide-reaching campaign to challenge gender bias and reshape social norms - both in the workplace and within communities.

Frances* from TSKI financial institution and a participant in the Gender Advocates training program, shared, “It was my first time learning about gender in this way. I believe in equal rights for women and men - not just in principle, but in practice. What I hope for now is greater sharing of knowledge and practical examples, so we can move beyond discussion and become true advocates for change.”

This campaign was developed in partnership with APPEND, with support from Investing in Women, an initiative of the Australian Government.

This week is National Volunteer Week, and it is a timely reminder of the incredible expertise and generosity that Good Return is fortunate to benefit from through the support of more than 20 volunteers across our organisation.

Stuart Findlay has volunteered with Good Return for more than three years, supporting our finance and operations team. He shared:

“After nearly 40 years in corporate life, joining Good Return was like a breath of fresh air. Through my role as one of the responsible managers for the Impact Investment Fund, and by delivering staff training across nine countries, I’ve had the opportunity to share my experience while learning so much myself.

What stands out most is the professionalism and passion of the people behind Good Return. A particular highlight for me (so far) was hearing firsthand stories from staff working with microentrepreneurs across the region at the 2025 Sydney fundraising event. It had a profound impact on me - and on everyone in the room.

If you’re considering volunteering, I encourage you to look at Good Return. While our work focuses on communities across Asia Pacific, addressing poverty in our region benefits us all.”
