“A busy and inspiring couple of days! Very productive visits with the Australian High Commission (Weds) and UNICEF (Thurs), as well as meeting with local Girl Guides and visiting the Kiribati Guide Hall / Headquarters building.
Three nights of leader training wrapped up last night with 28-30 adult leaders attending …. And a few more Promise ceremonies!

We were then treated to a special cultural performance by the Girl Guides and University of the Pacific students, followed by a feast and dancing. What a wonderful evening.”

Girl Guides Australia is excited to call for nominations for the national Young Women’s Forum. The Forum is a network of young women aged 16-30 years who are a consultative and reference group for GGA.

The Forum amplifies the voice of girls and young women in decision-making nationally and provides opportunities for further skill development.

A small group of our leaders has headed to Kiribati this week for the Reach Out Project 🏝️

They were warmly welcomed by the local Girl Guides with handmade garlands of flowers 🌺 Over the next three days they'll deliver training for Guide leaders and meet local schools to promote Guiding.

🌍 International Friendship Week at Our Chalet 🇨🇭

This week, Mandie Young from Guides Queensland, alongside Elise from Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT, has joined Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world at Our Chalet WAGGGS’ oldest World Centre, for International Friendship Week in the Swiss Alps.

Mandie and Elise are embracing the spirit of international Guiding through cultural exchange, shared experiences, and the opportunity to build lasting connections with members from across the globe.

International Friendship Week highlights one of Guiding’s greatest strengths: bringing together women from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries, united by shared values and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
