We believe a stable, secure home creates the foundation for change, giving people the opportunity to be healthier, happier and more secure and for children to be better nourished and better educated. We believe building a decent home provides much more than bricks and mortar – it provides real hope for the future. We don’t give hand-outs; we give people hand-ups by building homes in partnership wi

th families both in Australia and overseas. They put in labour and a deposit, and we assist with the expertise and financing and importantly, as the no-profit loan is repaid, it helps to finance even more homes for people in need. We don’t just provide a roof – we build communities. We also address water supply and sanitation issues and in some communities provide health, education – like teaching financial literacy and livelihood assistance.

Jenny was 11 when she ran away from home with nothing but her backpack.

She didn't know where she'd sleep. She didn't know if anyone would help. She just knew she couldn't survive one more night of violence.

Right now, young Australians are making that same choice, and more than half can't find a safe place to go.

Your donation before 30 June helps fund Habitat Haymarket - 6 self-contained units offering young people a safe room, wraparound support, and the chance to begin again.

"Since we have this new house, we feel secure and hopeful for a better future."

For families like Mr. Co's and Mr. Sai's, a leaking roof, sleepless nights and smoke-filled walls were once everyday life.

Both families now have safe, strong homes. And everything that comes with that 💙

Head to the comments for their stories in our latest blog post.

This project is delivered in partnership with ’s and our implementing partner, Habitat for Humanity Vietnam.

Every home sold. Every family helped.

We're proud to partner with the Arada Foundation and The Big Heart Foundation on 'Home for a Home': a global initiative building 300 homes in Indonesia in 2026, reaching thousands of people with safe shelter, clean water, and skills for life.

Because no family should go without a decent place to call home. 🏠

Take a moment to consider the difference a safe home makes.

For families like Ros's in rural Cambodia, safe housing means protection, dignity and light after dark.

1 in 3 people around the world don't have a safe, affordable place to call home. Your support this tax time helps change that, one family at a time.

A donation before June 30 is also tax deductible, so it's a meaningful gift that gives back to you too.

Newcastle, your first Habitat Women graduates are HERE. 🎓✨

10 women. 14 weeks. Countless moments of courage, connection and confidence.

This February, Habitat Women expanded to Newcastle, and last week we got to celebrate the very first cohort to come through our doors. Each of these women stepped into a workshop and into a sector dominated by men, and they absolutely owned it.

Proud doesn't even begin to cover it. 🔨🏠

What makes a home feel safe?

For most of us, the answer is simple. Solid walls, a dry roof and light after dark. Things we rarely think twice about.

But for families like Ros's in rural Cambodia, these basics are completely out of reach. And without them, everyday life carries real danger.

A safe home isn't a luxury. It's the foundation for health, education and opportunity.

This tax time, your gift can help more families access the safety and dignity they deserve.

There is a job for everyone on a Habitat build site. And according to Bronwyn, everyone comes out mentally stronger regardless of what they do.

During National Reconciliation Week, our team, alongside colleagues from Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity New Zealand, and Habitat for Humanity Asia-Pacific, visited Rainbow Lodge, a halfway house supporting First Nations men.

We were honoured to receive a traditional Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony from Uncle Brendan Kerin, an Arrernte and Barkindji Elder and representative for the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.

Through our Brush with Kindness program, we partner with Rainbow Lodge to support their residential program through painting, landscaping, and renovations. But visits like this remind us that safe housing is about so much more than four walls - it's about dignity, belonging, and healing.

Thank you to the Rainbow Lodge community. We are so very grateful. 🌿

From a leaking shelter to a thriving home garden, Mrs. Sa's story shows what's possible when a family gets the foundation they deserve.

"Your help has changed our lives. I hope many more families can have the same positive changes as me."
