Today we are attending the WA Sport Industry Conference by SportWest at Pan Pacific Hotel Perth to present on the success of our Improve your long game program.

Our Improve your long game program now has 65 golf clubs signed up, with two thirds of those from regional WA.

We’ve also recently launched the Improve your long game Community Champions initiative, recruiting golfers to spread the SunSmart message both on and off the course.

We want to sincerely thank SunSmart Community Projects Coordinator Cassandra Bordin for her tireless work, commitment and enthusiasm in her time here at SunSmart WA.

Cassandra launched the Improve your long game program in WA back in 2021 and has since built it up into the successful program it is today, helping golf clubs across the state to keep their members and staff safe from UV radiation and reduce their risk of skin cancer.

We wish Cassandra all the best in her next role, she will be missed!

WA students are back-to-school next week for Term 4🎒

Arguably the *longest* term of the year for students; the shortest for parents 😬 But undeniably, the term with the highest UV levels ☢️

Our website www.GenerationSunSmart.com.au offers a wealth of free resources for teachers, to help teach kids the importance of protecting their skin.

We also have a dedicated SunSmart Schools program, where we support primary schools to develop and implement policies to keep their students safe from UV radiation.

Last week we met with school leaders from across WA to encourage the implementation of sun protection standards and policy in primary schools at the 2026 Fotoworks WAPPA Conference!

This year's theme: 'The Lens We Choose', highlighted the importance of perspective, both in problem solving and in finding opportunities.

Spring has sprung! Blossoms are blooming 🌺 birds are singing 🐦 and the UV Index in WA is returning to its usual programming 📈☢️

On average, the UV in WA during spring is mostly Very High and even Extreme in the northern-most parts of our state.

So, whether you’re well and truly out of winter hibernation, or still slowly defrosting, make sure that when the UV is 3 or above, you protect your skin.
