🌭🌭Thank You to Our Volunteers and the Community!🌭🌭

What a fantastic day at our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser!

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy, and smiles to make the day such a success. From setting up and cooking to serving customers and packing down, your efforts were truly appreciated. Special shout out to our Discounts & Fundraising Coordinator Kay Chantelle Lawlor, who made the event possible! 🙌

Thank you to all of the community support. We are excited to share that we sold close to 600 sausages, an incredible result that exceeded our expectations! This helps us to continue to provide support, resources, and connections for families of multiples across Western Australia. Every purchase contributes to our goals and makes an incredible difference to our Association.

🤰🏼EXPRESSION OF INTEREST🤰🏼
We are seeking EOIs for our Breastfeeding Workshops for Multiples with Dr Sharon Perrella for expectant parents.

Dr Sharon Perrella is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Sharon has extensive experience in caring for breastfeeding families in neonatal nurseries and in the community, and is now also a lactation researcher at The University of Western Australia.

The workshop is designed specifically for multiples families and will cover the following topics:

⚪️ Establishing a healthy milk supply
⚪️ Introduction to expressing and lactation aids
⚪️ Logistics of feeding two babies – single vs tandem feeding, scheduled vs demand
⚪️ Managing the feeding of ‘early term’ and ‘preterm’ infants
⚪️ Supporting the breastfeeding mum of multiples

Our breastfeeding workshops are small limited ticket events, open to both MBAWA members and non-members. We have dropped the price for our members with registration fee now $30 and $70 for non-members.

⁉️ Interested, feel free to pop a comment below (and we will PM you), or email [email protected] with any questions you may have.

✨VOLUNTEERS CELEBRATION✨

And that’s a wrap on one of our biggest events in our 52 year history! Last week volunteers, members, special guests and hospital workers from King Edward Memorial Hospital came together for an event to celebrate and thank past and present volunteers of Tiny Sparks WA and the Multiple Birth Association for Western Australia (MBAWA).

Hadife Birch (President of MBAWA), Amber Bates (Co-Founder and Chair of Tiny Sparks WA) alongside Jeffrey Williams Jeffrey Williams (Executive Director of Women and Newborn Health Services King Edward Memorial Hospital) all gave speeches about their volunteers being the lifeline and heart of our communities. A very special thank you to Kate Chaney, MP for Curtin for joining us to celebrate and for her support for MBAWA.

Guests were treated to a generous afternoon tea by Epic Catering, an opportunity to meet with other volunteers and contribute to a message board to reflect on the why our volunteers do what they do - to support and give back to others.

A huge thanks to Samantha Parke, our volunteer Grant Coordinator for securing an event partnership with Tiny Sparks WA and $2000 from Lotterywest and Volunteering WA to host this event, and volunteer event subcommittee members Kay Lawlor and Hadife Birch for giving their time generously to coordinate and make this event possible.
