WA Primary Health Alliance

WA Primary Health Alliance WA Primary Health Alliance is supported by funding from the Australian Government under the PHN Program.

WA Primary Health Alliance’s state-wide structure and strong partnerships give us the opportunity to shape a health system that is fit for the future. Our role is to work with our partners to develop a health system that works for people, ensuring they can access excellent care closer to home. We do this by looking system-wide at gaps and identifying opportunities to improve the way things work. W

e invest in important primary healthcare services and encourage innovation in the delivery of care. We help those at risk of poor health outcomes by addressing health inequity and improving access to services that transform and save lives. In partnership with GPs and their practice teams, service providers and allied health professionals across many parts of the health system, we are delivering better health, together. Rules of engagement:

WA Primary Health Alliance’s (WAPHA) social media channels are intended to be a forum to share ideas, opinions, latest news, events and updates on primary healthcare and we encourage our followers to share their thoughts and views. While we support lively, open discussion, we reserve the right to delete comments at our discretion. We support the COVID-19 vaccine roll out and other vaccines. Discussion about vaccines should be respectful, informed, and accurate. We reserve the right to remove comments that spread misinformation, or to block accounts which persist in this behaviour. More than 70 local GPs, health professionals and service providers recently came together for an event focused on strengthening mental health and wellbeing across the Goldfields.

The event featured a practical presentation from Professor Nick Titov about the “Big 5” - five simple, research-backed areas that support good mental health: meaningful activities, healthy thinking, goals and plans, healthy routines and social connections.

The interactive format encouraged participants to reflect on both their own wellbeing and how these insights could be applied in clinical practice. The Big 5 framework stood out for its simplicity and practicality, offering an approach that can be readily integrated into routine care, health promotion and patient self-management.

The evening highlighted how small, consistent actions can make a significant difference. Through collaboration and shared learning, Goldfields providers are strengthening their ability to support not only their patients, but also each other and the wider community.
