WHERE CAN PREVENTION BEGIN?

Schools and community sporting clubs are part of everyday life for many young people and families. They can create opportunities to build positive relationships, challenge harmful attitudes and strengthen cultures of respect.

Deserving Better WA is planning practical prevention work within these communities, focused on:

Respect.
Equality.
Accountability.

This is about turning conversations about gender-based violence into opportunities for learning, prevention and action.

The attitudes, behaviours and expectations that shape our relationships develop within our families, schools, sporting clubs and communities.

Deserving Better WA is planning to work with schools and community sporting clubs as part of a practical approach to prevention.

Because creating change is not only about responding to violence after it happens.

It is also about creating opportunities to prevent harmful attitudes and behaviours from taking hold in the first place.
