MVGG had a fun time at rock climbing tonight. Many Guides reached the top of the wall and pushed through their fears to go all the way! Some went out of their comfort zone and were so proud of their achievements.
This is what Guides is all about - empowering young women and helping them believe they can do anything!

International Women’s Day 💜

At Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who inspire, empower and step up every single day.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, Balance the Scales, reminds us that while progress has been made, many women and girls still face barriers that stand in the way of true equality. Creating a fairer world means continuing to challenge those barriers and supporting the next generation to lead with confidence.

Today, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the amazing Girl Guide Leaders and Volunteers. Week after week, you give your time, share your knowledge and champion girls to be brave, curious and strong. Because of you, girls grow up knowing their voices matter and that they can shape their own future.

Together, let’s keep working to balance the scales. ⚖️💜

Our Girl Guide hall has suffered extensive graffiti vandalism over the Christmas holiday period. We are wondering if there are any cleaning businesses who would be willing to remove this for us as a donation, or at a reduced rate. We have a non-sacrificial coating on the mural that is underneath the graffiti. It is very disheartening for our girls to turn up to their weekly meetings and see their hall defaced.
Any business that helps would be advertised to our parent network and given a shoutout on our social media.

World Thinking Day has been bringing girls and women together for 100 years – and that’s something worth celebrating.

Since 1926, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world have marked 22 February by thinking about one another, learning about different cultures, and celebrating the friendships that connect us across countries and communities.

In 2026, we’re celebrating a full century of World Thinking Day – honouring our history, celebrating where we are now, and looking ahead to the future of our movement.
