SAFE Animal Rehoming SAFE stands for 'Sydney's Animals For Everyone'. We rehome animals, mainly cats in Sydney Australia. We also offer premium boarding for cats.

Please come and visit us at SAFE Haven to adopt a cat. Rehoming Organisation Number R251000093 CFN: 26206 SAFE Rehoming is a registered animal welfare charity operating in Northern Sydney, Australia. It was launched in September 2017 by a group of professional animal carers who run the charity on an unpaid basis and since that time SAFE has earned a reputation as a trusted place for unwanted, homeless and stray animals. SAFE cares for animals both at SAFE Haven in Roseville and through foster carers. All dogs are cared for by foster carers
Animals are either surrendered or found abandoned by good samaritans. All animals available for adoption are microchipped, desexed, health checked, behaviour assessed, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms. The charity is run by a committee voted for by members and headed by a President. ๐Ÿพ FOSTER CARERS WANTED โ€“ KITTEN SEASON IS IN FULL SWING๐Ÿพ

Kitten season has started with a bang, and we are receiving countless enquiries from people asking for help with mums and their precious kittens.

We want to be able to say YES to as many of these cats as possible โ€“ but we need more foster carers to make it happen! โค๏ธ

We are urgently looking for foster carers across Sydneyโ€™s Northern Beaches and North Shore, ideally close to our veterinary partners.

๐Ÿก All you need is a spare room!

You donโ€™t need to be an experienced foster carer or have a huge house. A quiet, safe spare room where Mum and her kittens can settle in is enough. We will provide guidance and support throughout the foster journey, and our team is here to help whenever you need us.

Fostering can be incredibly rewarding. Youโ€™ll get to watch kittens grow from tiny babies into confident, happy cats โ€“ while giving Mum a safe place to raise them and giving the whole family a chance at finding their forever homes. ๐Ÿ’•

When we asked for help with Gideonโ€™s treatment, you responded and almost $2,000 was raised to help cover the cost of his medication. We are so grateful to everyone who donated and shared his story.

Just look at this beautiful face โ€“ it's a gorgeous mix of warm gingers and browns with a perfect white mouth ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง ๐ž๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ.
Elle is three years old and has been waiting at SAFE for just over a year. She arrived with her one-day-old kittens and, once they were grown, she settled into life with us.
Elle is a quiet, gentle soul and unfortunately she is very easy to miss. She tends to hang back when people are around and often disappears when viewers arrive, so while the confident cats are putting themselves forward, Elle quietly blends into the background.
But there are encouraging signs
Behind this initial reserve thereโ€™s so much potential. Elle has slowly started to learn that some people can be trusted. She will sometimes accept gentle pats and, every now and then she will roll over or join in with some play, these little moments giving us a glimpse of the potential that is waiting beneath the shy reserve.
Elle needs a quiet, adult-only home where she can take her time, feel safe and never feel pressured to perform. There is undoubtedly much more to Elle waiting to emerge.

Itโ€™s the end of the month, and we can report some fantastic adoptions! โค๏ธ
We love having kittens at SAFE, but theyโ€™re usually not with us for long and itโ€™s our longer-term cats who often become such a big part of our lives. We get to know their personalities and quirks and see them develop.
Every adoption is special to us, but every now and then there are a few that touch our hearts just a little bit more. This month, three of those adoptions were ๐Œ๐ข๐š ๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ฒ and ๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ โค๏ธ

๐Œ๐ข๐š was with us for a year. She spent 6 months of this in foster care where she really blossomed and showed what a lovely girl she could be. Back at the shelter, she found things much harder, and we knew she needed a family who would give her the time and space to let that beautiful side of her shine again. And finally, she found them. โค๏ธ

๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ฒ had been with us for over a year too. She wanted to interact with people but would often become unsure and withdraw. Then her special people came along โ€” and suddenly we saw a different Miley. She played and played and played! It was wonderful to see her so relaxed and happy. โค๏ธ

๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ was with us for a year while we worked through his eye issues and waited for the right family to come along. They drove three hours through the rain to take him home and we think that says something about how much they wanted him and how he will be loved. โค๏ธ

Three cats who waited a long time for love. Three very different personalities. And three families who saw something special in them.

When she meets people at SAFE, Mia can be very shy and withdrawn. No doubt this was a way of coping in her previous life, and she doesnโ€™t always show people what a lovely soul she really is. Returning to the shelter has been a big change for her, but now we know what she is capable of when she feels safe and secure we can confidently say there is a sweet, affectionate girl waiting to emerge once Mia has a home of her own โ€“ and this time, we want it to be her forever home.

โ™ป๏ธ VOLUNTEER NEEDED โ€“ RETURN & EARN

We need someone to pick up the containers donated at SAFE and take them to a Returnandearn machine. All funds go towards helping the pets in our care.

If youโ€™re already recycling for SAFE and live nearby, this could be a great fit. You'd only need to collect a small bagfull of containers every couple of weeks and take them to the machine.
The nearest machines to SAFE are the Pittwater RSL club, Warriewood Square & Brookvale.
