Partners in Recovery Sydney North Shore & Beaches

Partners in Recovery Sydney North Shore & Beaches Supporting people with severe and persistent mental illness and their carers in the Sydney North Shore & Beaches region.

Partners in Recovery (PIR) is a national program established by the Department of Health. It is designed to help people who experience severe and persistent mental illness and have complex support needs which require support from multiple agencies – along with their carers and families. Community Care Northern Beaches is the lead agency for the Sydney North Shore and Northern Beaches PIR program.

In this region the program is funded to assist 505 individuals through to the end of June, 2015. Poor mental health does not discriminate and there are no willing participants. Barriers to recovery from poor mental health include income, training and employment, housing and homelessness, physical health, unresolved trauma, addictions and isolation. Holistic solutions are required, often involving multiple service providers. PIR acts as a central point of contact to help people navigate the service systems and create a recovery solution unique to them. It also supports the services needed to create the solution to work together in a coordinated and collaborative way. Find out more on our website at: http://www.partnersinrecoverysnsb.com.au/
